Does the stock heatercore have a "reducer" in one of the tips?

Ever since I replaced the heatercore I have the common howl. The tube brackets are in place and I've tried what others posted to no avail. I remember someone early this year tell me "there is a reducer on the inlet of the stock GM heatercore that aftermarket heatercores sometimes don't come with. You have to remove it from the stock one and reuse it in the aftermarket". I've already chucked the old heatercore, can someone confirm if this is true?

I have never heard of this and and haven't experienced a problem since I did mine last year.

They do make reducers, but would not make a noise, just simply keep so much hot coolant from going into the heater core

I had to replace the heater core in my ty a while back, and when I put the new one in it howled, turns out I put a small hole in it when I installed it

That's why I pressure tested mine (less than 10 psi) before I installed it. That way, I wouldn't have to do it twice before I even started ;) .

Oh crap now I'm freakn'! I hope it doesn't have a hole. So far the coolant level hasn't changed.

Yes, running without the restrictor can cause strange noises, usually a gurgling sound, but I have seen lotsa weird noises over the yrs because of this.

So their is a restrictor??
The guy also said something like "the pressure is too high going into the core so you get a whirring sound with RPM as the coolant forces itself through". Which makes sense and pretty much describes my sound.
