Re: mothers back to black

For me.....it lasted till the first rainfall or carwash. Then it got all streaky and oily looking.

All of it suks - my cladding just bleeds from the pores from all of the prior applications - wish I had painted it back in the day...

If you have a garage that stuff would be perfect. I use it because it is quick and easy, but after one or two rainy days. It looks terrible and streaky. I hope I can get my cladding painted someday along with the rest of the truck....

Re: mothers back to black

Dammit, I just picked up the back to black product. I may return it now, b/c the truck sits outside and I don't want to reapply after every rain.

Anyone else use the forever black listed above?? Any other suggestions??

Thanks,
Stan

Mines outside all the time too and I hate the stuff. I found a bottle of this boat polishing stuff, it takes off all the old products and coats the cladding at the same time. Works really great.

Re: mothers back to black

I am getting mine painted, however I still have a half bottle of Black Chrome if anyone wants it. It worked the best for me, and it did help to apply it with a orbital polisher/buffer.

Re: mothers back to black

My old sy had almost gray cladding when I got it. Each piece was a different color. I used back to black and it made a huge difference, but it took a lot of coats and time at first. After that I used it every week or two to keep it looking good. It did make it kind of oily though.

Hey Guys,

I like my cladding the way it is! If it was painted i would have to worry about chips and scratches. The two best products i have used are Black Chrome and new product called Black Again. The guy who sells this say it has better polymers and last longers i bought 4 bottles and so far works greats. If anyone wahts to know where to get it here is there website.

Re: mothers back to black

when i bought my sy, the previous owner gave me back 2 black and black chrome.
and he also gave me a bottle of some clear stuff that he got from a auto detailing friend.
the back2 black and black chrome worked "ok", but really sucked when it rained.
the clear stuff worked awesome, great shine, and didnt run as bad in the rain, and you only needed a small amount to do the whole truck.
i tracked down the manufactuer and bought 300 oz of it.
its made by Auto Magic.
ill find out the name of it when i get home.
