Re: stock longblock

I have gone high 11's low 12's on a stock longblock but it did not last very long.

Re: stock longblock

Some have good luck and some dont. I have been in the bottom 7"s in the 1/8 for over a year on the stock long block. It finaly died with 138,000 mile on it. the last 20,000 It was road raced, roll raced, drag raced(on 28 psi) they will live for a while. just keep the knock under control.

Stock block and heads.. Um, check Phil Long.. in the 10's.

stock longblock would be stock cam and exhaust manifolds too I would assume

Well I would assume that the headers would make it NOT a stock longblock. But regardless if thats what he had and stock internals and running 10's thats damn impressive. Stock cam too?

from what he claims the motor was unopened, to me unopened means not you never even took the valvecovers off...

i wouldnt say headers changes anything. i have spoken to a few guys with impressive low mileage trucks and they have headers.

Re: stock longblock

To define "long block" it has nothing to do with exhaust, nore intake. Its the motor its self. From the block to the heads. When you order a long block from a vendor, what do you get?

So really Phil did have a stock long block that ran 10's. Now if the question was changed to "stock long block with stock cam, IC/intake, and exhuast" then that'd be a little different. And would probably be mid low 11's.
