To those w/ the Aluminum Tubular Core Supports

Dgoodhue hit me up for an air diverter to force air through the radiator, and also to serve as a drip tray, MSD mount, and alky mount. I think its a neat idea/design (all his doing, he sent me his template).

Here it is cad'd up.

white lines are bends...so it'll require drilling holes/using self tapping metal screws into your support to secure it. I'll probably add pilot holes to the tabs of this, to help w/ screw placement.

I'll be bringing one kit to NATS. Anyone coming to NATS have an alum fabbed core support by chance? Would be nice to test fit it there. otherwise, Dave will be able to test it out when he gets home.

Anyway, once we get this one 100%, i'll probably offer them to anyone who'd want a kit, (assuming Dave doesn't mind  )

prototype cut and ready to be bent. I have a core support en route, so i'll be test fitting it soon hopefully

I'm not sure why....but I'm having trouble pictureing it....but I definitely like the sound of it. Can't wait to see and from the description...sounds like something I could use.

Re: To those w/ the Aluminum Tubular Core Supports

yeah i'm having trouble gathering a pic in my head also. but as stated above sounds like a great idea....does it still work/fit with the mccoy a2a??

i'd like to see one installed but i'm a player pending renzfab llc. pricing.

Re: To those w/ the Aluminum Tubular Core Supports

Here is my cardboard mockup. I spent some time making sure it cleared the front grill. A small section on left of the grill will open, my plan is for cold air to got to my air filter. The rest of the air going through the grill will have to go through the radiator or over it. It should have no problem clearing a McCoy A2A as that it what I have. I should have it installed shortly after the Nats.

ah ok...i bent the one piece wrong...but i think we can improve the overall design of the thing. Part of me thinks we should close up the gaping holes beneath the headlight buckets, and i don't think the vertical pieces really do much for channeling air anyway.

I personally think it will do the trick in terms of air management. I probably would want to do something about the top of the grill (I think your making one for stock supports/grill), so air doesn't go over the radiator so easily. The bottom of it won't do much air manangement once its in the front bumper cover, but the air would have to go backwards. I doesn't have to be a complete seal for it to work.

So Renz.....now that you've got this fab thing official and all. If I need one maybe a little different and draw it all up in CAD for you.....is it something that you might be interested in? I was also thinking about doing a little design for the lower air scoop. lmk...

definitely.

Basically...if someone has an idea that i'm not already working on...typically they get the first one free and then i'll offer them for sale to everyone else (obviously barring its a possible resellable product)

I have an idea for a scoop, but if you want to design your own, shoot me a your idea/design/cad to parts@renzfab.com

Cool....sounds good. It won't be for a while due to me still being in Malaysia and away from my trucks....but it's good to know that your up for it. And it's definitely appreciated. Thanks.
