noob questions

i did look around some and couldnt really find what i was looking for but im getting a 93 ty next week and was wondering what is the stock boost on these? and whats a safe place to run the boost untill i get some mods going?

im a noob to the ty but not to turbos or performance :tup:

Stock boost is around 14 psi.
Safe boost,,, w/no mods,,,run 101 octane.
You can lengthen the wastegate rod so you can lower the boost if you like?

with a stock chip if you hit 15psi it shuts the truck down. DONT touch the boost unless you want problems, tuning can get you 1sec off your stock times. get datamaster and work your tune.

come to the miami meet at the end of Jan. its a haul for you, but in the long run after 3 nonstop days of syty and wrenching, you'll be well educated and know exactly how to drive your ty at speeds going over 100+mph.

thanks guys im pretty good at tuning so ill be getting that stuff pretty soon

stock boost is 14.5psi and if the ty still has the stock 2 bar chip then if you raise the boost any it'll throw a overboost code and cut the motor to help prevent engine damage.

another thing to remember is that the stock wastegate on these things blow so useally if you modify the exhaust any it'll overboost requiring you to readjust the wastegate rod some... but this seems to effect different trucks differently like everything else with these trucks
