First off nice site.. My love is for Buick's but love all Turbo v'6... looking for a driver and came across this Typhoon in my area.. here is the list

115,000 .. owner states rebuilt engine , trans, nice body and interior,,

He painted it Silver (was black/black) its a 1992 model. Asking price is $7750

My question: Is this a good price? Here is a pic..

I am looking to buy this truck.. should I?

Hook a scan tool to it and see how it runs , also note how it shifts . There are a few knowledgeable syty'ers in Tx , maybe someone can check it out for you . Other than that , it appears like a good buy .

Looks like a decent truck from the pic, but of course it warrants further inspection and a test drive with a scan tool.

I'd also request some receipts or details of the engine rebuild and the trans rebuild...who? what? when? etc...

Compression test would be mandatory as well.

You could probably get it for a little less than the asking price... maybe ~$7k.

Re: New guy here and have a question for you guy's

Make sure you get to see/keep all the receipts for the work that was done if he has them. My truck is a complete rebuild as well, its been running fine... So don't let that scare you, as long as it was done by people who have worked with these cars in the past... Datamaster can be downloaded and you can hook up a usb cable to the truck...definately gunna wanna do that like everyone else said...Truck looks clean btw... Also post up in the forum to get yourself a CARFAX report, It helped me out a lot! Good Luck!

I noticed that too..

They're called "escutcheons" and they were standard for the 92 trucks (one of the few visible differences 92->93. I think Necro was just saying the truck would look better without them. Some people like them and will gladly pay $50-100 for a pair.

Sounds like a good price, if everything is as advertised.

On repaints, always CARFAX or get it checked to make sure there wasn't a major wreck in its lifetime.

Also google 'SyTy Buyer's guide' and follow the advice.

Find out who did the motor/Trans...

Doesn't look to bad in silver. Big question would be, why the repaint?. Accident or just to be different. Also are the door/hatch jams all painted nicely. Is it done under the hood?

Re: New guy here and have a question for you guy's

Thanks for all the replies guy's.. just spoke with the owner.. truck was hit in the tailgate and he says "there is some 1/4 work" as well. says it was hit is his driveway by some drunk 18 yrs old little skank :( I really don't like wrecked cars, but these things are getting harder to find these days...

ps. he also noted that all the jambs are painted silver as well.. I think 6 grand would be a buy...

Also.. will these trucks fit a large man? im 6'0 tall and about 320lbs.( old ugly powerlifter :rotf: )

I have not been in one in years.. the seats are wide If I remember right.
