2009 CTS-v

Dunno aboot you guys, but I am hyped for the 2009 CTS-v.

This is the Caddy with the SC ZR1 motor and an available 6L90 six-speed automatic.

The car has 550 ft lbs of torque,so I imagine that the trans is pretty stout,if for nothing else but the warranty.

Will this be the new trans of choice for us?

I'm thinking maybe. Hope it will fit.

We definitely have the talent here to make it happen. I would just about give my right nut to cruise down the interstate doing 80 in 6th at 1500 rpm.

So all you trans gurus need to go ahead and figure this out.You GM guys need to get us the specs on this thing.

I like it too.

I'm thinking why stop at the trans? Someone needs to see if the motor/trans combo would fit

Gonna be crap like the last one. Sure it's got power but certainly not the refinement of its competition. Not for me, not for the $. Give me a C63 or M3 or RS4 WAY before that.

Hardly. Check his stable. He had a CTS-V and it was total POS. No reason to believe the new ones will be built of the same quality, regardless of the bump in HP and new engine.

Re: 2009 CTS-v

whats the estimated sticker on these?

i'm waiting for the 09 to come out to see if the price on the 06 drops a few grand... I'd much rather scoop up a used 06 for 30-32k, than anything else.

M3's just reek of cell phone slingin armenians, err at least here they do... the audi's are cool but just seem like a glorified VW with expensive repair costs... and after working for a mercedes dealer for a few years and hearing horror stories from the mechanics... don't think i'd ever own one of those either...

too bad you don't want silver... My 06 lease is up in about a month. Just hit 6k on the odo, after 2 years. Think the buyout is around $32k. The car is absolutely mint, showroom condition. Still even smells like a new car inside. If anyone is interested in the buyout let me know.

Yea "base model" CTS winning Motor Trend car of the year is a great indication of how shitty the "up level" V model is going to be.

YES!^^^^^^

Dobrick you beat me to it. Motortrend seemed to think it was pretty good. Also, 'sure it's got power', are any of those other cars close to 550HP(not to mention the torque from the blower)? Power without refinement, refinement without power, which would SyTy people pick...

Yeah, but so what if it did? Not many people on here could afford to pay for one.

The demand for 'salvaged' 'exotic-motored' cars is extremely high. I followed a C6-Z06 that was so destroyed that people died in it, go for 37,000 at auction. There wasn't much left. The buyer must have wanted the title.

Eventually, these engines and transmissions will be available as 'service' assys. Like the LS7 is now. But what is the price of that? I'm guessing about 15,000.

Everyone can dream can't they? I know most members here will never be able to afford that sort of motor/trans setup... but we'll never be able to buy a Koenigsegg Edition CCX or even a Ferarri F430, but that doesn't stop us from reading about them or drooling over them.

I want a Duramax/Allison Typhoon too. And a TT 427 Lingenfelter Typhoon and....

Gotta have dreams. It's what keeps me going.

And yes, I like the CTS-V, but while we're talking about cars I'll never own, I'd rather have THIS

Re: 2009 CTS-v

the 6l60e is the same external dimensions as the 4l80e but its not a boltin like the 80e you need to swap front and rear gears, there is no controller for it, several places are working on one, there are non service parts for it, you need a band buy a trans GM has not released them as a over the counter item you need a core to get one and the salvage yards want 2500 for a "core" give them a few years
