Here is the data on my brother's truck:
Can someone tell me what is a fair price for this truck?

This was my brother's truck but he died and I inherited it. I want someone who knows these trucks to have and care for this wonderful vehicle. This is what my brother wrote about it before he died.

This truck is #1800 of approximately only 2995 produced. It is the fastest production pickup truck on the road (0-60 in 4.8 sec). Brand new transmission (rebuilt). All orginal, not modified. This Syclone has a Vortec V-6, with a liquid intercooled Turbocharger with 14-psi boost, 8.35:1 compression, port injectors, special pistons, oil cooler, and dual exhaust outlets. That yields a rousing 285 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 350lbs/ft of torque at 3600. Full time all-wheel drive. 4 wheel anti-lock brakes. It has a special "sport-calibrated" suspension lowered by two inches compared to regular Sonomas. Owned/Maintained by Auto Repair shop owner. Complete set of Service Records (Synthetic Oil used since new). Professionally installed Stereo System--Sony AM/FM Cassette Player with 10 Disc CD Changer, ADS 600 Watt Amplifier with ADS Speakers & Crossovers. Custom installed Trailer Hitch. Overload Airlifts. Borla Stainless Steel Exhaust System. Professionally installed K40 Radar Detector. Polished and Clear Powder Coated Wheels. Private License Plate -TIKTGTR 106,500 mi

Sorry to hear about your brother.

Depends on condition.

around $10k for a A+ condition would be about tops I would think right now with that mileage.
$7k for a good running truck that needs a few things here and there.

At one point he towed a SeaDoo, but then later got a Tahoe for that. Not much after that that I know of

I would have to agree. The miles are high but it is still a rare truck. If everything was taken care of well it will still bring a decent price for a truck that is 17 years old. It does throw a red flag up though because I'm not so sure you should tow anything heavy with a Syclone. Not meant as that type of truck, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Where are you located? Is the truck for sale? If so, I am interested.

You really need to post pics. With those kind of miles, your phone won't be ringing off the hook unless the price is in the $5-6,000 range and even then, with the economy as it is, a solid sale may take awhile. Then again, if the pics are great, you might get a lot more, alot quicker .

what I dont get is why these trucks are worth so little.. The fastest truck produced to date, only about 2500 made.. the grand national had over like 27000 built in one year and they are worth thousands more

Unfortunately, because they're trucks...they just won't appreciate nearly as much as a classic or special interest sports car or muscle car from the same era (ZR1, Cobra, GN, TTA, etc).

Some pictures of the truck would be helpful in determining a fair asking price range.

Also, where are you and the truck located? A high mileage southern or western truck should be rust free and command a higher price.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your brother.

I think it is attributed to a few reasons. Sluggish economy, AWD gobbles the fuel, because so few were made, there are not many companies around to cater to our performance wants/needs, and these trucks were never marketed well to begin with so the publicity about them never matured to the proper level and as was stated, they are a truck with little benefit other than going quick in a straight line. Even at that, low mileage MINT Sy's or Ty's still command respectable money.

after reading what your brother had printed up, I question the vortec v-6 part. It is a v-6 but did he do the cylinder head conversion? or is it still the stock heads in it?

And here's how to do it: Open up a free account at photobucket.com. Once you've done this, upload the photos from your computer files to the account. Then, simply copy the Image code that each photo has, and paste it into a "reply" to this thread. Voila!

Pretty sure he was just using the standard info used to advertise the SyTys, no reference to cylinder head change. They have Vortec V6 engines.

They actually do not have vortecs. Many people refer to them as vortecs but they were not introduced until 94-95(?). That is a common mistake made by the media.

Yeah, noticed I forgot to put in quotes "they have vortec V6s" meaning thats what is usually typed for a description. I guess I left it kinda vague, eh? It was to early in the morning to think straight. The fingers and brain werent talking yet.

Re: What is a fair price for Syclone #1800?

Ok so you have literature with it on there. They "Vortec" engine wasn't advertised till later. If you look at a 91-93 jimmy or sonoma were they advertised with a "Vortec"? If not that would be my point. I know the vortec 350 wasn't available till 94-95. I could be wrong but that is what I thought.

Re: What is a fair price for Syclone #1800?

i recently just bought sy #2441 for 10k

MY friend just bought sy # 1991 for 6k but it has some issues with the engine.

Even with the economy like it is i would say if it's in very good condition 9-10k is not a bad starting point that fact that it's very close to stock mans it will be worth a little more in my opinion.
