Just installed an engine tie down and have a question

On my truck to me it seems that the bottom bolt with the loop on it is very close to the oil lines. Is this correct and is there anything that I can do to get me some clearence around it or will this not cause an issue? Thanks

I *think* that he has this one made by member "nallj92". The only possible clearance issue that I can see regarding the oil lines vs. the eye bolt would be the threads on the eye bolt itself. If it were me, I would get a short piece of rubber hose and slit it lengthwise and slip it over the eye bolt threads to minimize the possibility of any contact with the oil line by them. AFAIK member "mattw" did the first "boxed" alternator tie down. This style design is the best one that I have seen to date. I would have made/bought one of these myself if I wasn't going to solid motor mounts...

Mine is shown installed in this thread.... http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53212&page=2&pp=15

I haven't had any issues... I put a piece of large heat shrink over the chain.

The oil lines seem to be flexible enough at that area not to cause any problems. These are pixs I got from Justin of the install. Hope they help.

I'd either bend the line a little (the hard part of the oil lines are quite flexible) or use the standoff zip-tie method to give some clearance.

Zip-tie method - wrap one zip-tie around the line and chain loosely (not too tight or too loose) and then use a second zip-tie around the first zip-tie in between the chain and line. Essentially, you're zip-tie'ing the first zip-tie with the second. Usng the second to "pinch" the first makes the first look like a figure 8. The pinching of the zip-tie keeps the objects from ever contacting. Some call it the Nascar method.

Who sells this Tie down. I was trying to look for it. I am interested in buying one. That looks like a good piece to have.

I would just bend them to give you the clerance, they will not break.
