I have been saving these because I wanted to finish up an oddfire 4.3 project, but someone at the shop walked away with my block and my billet crank and now realistically I'm never gonna have the motivation to do it so I'm letting this all go.
I would LIKE to sell it all as ONE deal, because this stuff was designed to work together. Plus, I want it ALL gone with no leftover small pieces that nobody wants, and I want to be able to pack it all in one shipping box instead of 23432 different boxes going different places. This stuff will not work with stock 4.3 cranks, camshafts, or distributors - you are going to either need a billet oddfire shared journal crank OR a 229 odd fire split journal crank. The factory 229 crank is just as strong if not stronger than the stock 4.3 piece because it's made out of nodular iron and the split rod journals have more overlap at the split than the stock 4.3 journals do so the area between journals is stronger. I saw a 4.3 billet oddfire crank pop up on ebay a while back, so billet cranks aren't hard to find. You will need to get the correct camshaft and distributor (different firing orders) for whichever crankshaft you decide to use, but that's all basic oddfire stuff that you can find out if you research. Don't post any questions about odd fire vs. stock or how they are different, because this is a for sale post not a technical post, and like I said you can find alot of information from searching.
Now, I have:
- used manley 6" aluminum rods
- brand new set of manley rod bolts and rod bolt washers (someone stole 1 bolt and 1 washer out of the packages)
- brand new JE 2618 dished forged pistons: 4.020" bore, 1.2/1.5/3mm rings, 1.25" compression height, unknown dish volume, with spirolocks
- used JE casadium coated wristpins
- 2pc to 1pc rear main seal converter, because billet and 229 oddfire cranks have 2pc rear seals.
- 2 billet steel pro-gram straight 4-bolt conversion main caps for the center 2 mains. They have been roughed in, and all you have to do is drill/tap the outer bolts (not splayed) and have them line honed with your block
The only thing that needs to be done for this setup:
- find a billet or 229 oddfire crank
- fit the pins on the rods and the pistons
- install main caps on your block and have it line honed
- get rings and bearings
I am pricing this setup to move as one unit, so I am offering it for 550$ SHIPPED to the lower 48. The pistons alone cost me about that much, and that includes everything listed and in the picture. All of the used stuff (rods and wrist pins) checks out measurement wise, and are good to go.
