    Make sure your runnint the $58B def file from tunercat. It's setup for v8 (displays things related to rpm, and so on differently). I had the same questions about adding fuel under boost.     I'd like to do it that way purely for ease of mind. I have 3 vac ports on my plenum. 1 for accessories, 1 for gauge, 1 for map. I don't like t'ing off the ports for things like hobbs switches..
