92 Ty for sale in Edmonton "project" price lowered

Listing another one for my friend.

This Ty isn't perfect but with just a bit of TLC it could be a really nice truck.

First the good,

Low mileage
Pretty much bone stock mechanicaly at first glance
Custom "Budnick"wheels
Borla exhaust

The Bad,

-Needs some front end work, idler and pitman I'd guess at first blush.
-Wheels could use a polish, a few hours with a Foose buff ball would make em pretty methinks.
-Has a few minor dents and scratches, etc. Usual sort of wear for a vehicle that was driven.

The Ugly,

The factory front bumper and support is missing. Someone put alot of effort into the custom fiberglass bumper but it is somewhat road rashed, etc and would require some work to be reinstalled. A factory front bumper would just bolt back on with some minor repair to the front wheel arches.

There is a bit of rust showing in the usual places around the rear seams.

Ordinarily I'd go through this truck, make it 110% for my freind and sell it that way. But we are both short of time and busy with our houses, etc.

We figured we'd try and sell it this way first, if not when I get to it the price will just increase to reflect the repairs.

Pics can be seen here

If someone wants to see more specific pics, etc that isn't a problem.

The asking price is 9,000 canadian OBO.

Feel free to e-mail or PM me with any questions, etc.

Tony

^^
Yes, to me. It's now in Calgary, stock rims located, and a stock bumper support & cover might be on its way shortly. This truck is starting to come back together again and I even managed to contact the original owner in Cali.

My wife loves it, and it's her DD.

[edit: I don't know why but I just realized I have a need to buy vehicles not originally sold in Canada. Currently I'm trying to work out the purchase of an Evo8. hahhaha]

Oh good stuff.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it and are putting it back to stock, appearance-wise at least. What are you doing with the wheels that were on the truck?

It did come from Japan, it was exported there from Cali quite some time ago. I was going to buy that Ty back in Aug, nice to see it still in Canada.

Thanks guys,

Although it's now a wht/wht, that bumper cover will be replaced and the stock wheels are back on. I plan to use the Budnicks for the summer, they don't look too bad on the truck IMO.

Any die-hard restoration guys might want to hit their 'back button' though, because we bought the truck for it to be a daily driver. The stock 16's are sporting winter tires, and it seems that being lowered 2" will still give a decent ride in the winter (I went to KYB MonoMax shocks).

As far as the drivetrain's concerned, I think some alky injection, pump, chip, map, injectors, and a 20G will compliment the existing Borla exhaust nicely :)

I updated the registry at Sport Machines when we got the truck. A nice guy in California bought it new, drove it daily for 3 years, then traded it off for a BMW. The salesguy said he was going to have it exported to Japan, and I don't think the original owner believed him!

Cheers!
ps Wave if you see my wife in a White/White 92 in Calgary.
