Re: Engine Problems Updated
Re: Engine Problems Updated
If i remember right don't you have to get the truck over a certain speed to reset the IAC when you replace it?
Re: oil pump pickup clearance
Yeah it's hitting the pickup. If I take the oilpump off it sits flush, but when it put it back on the rear of the pan won't sit down all the way. Any ideas?
I am in the process on putting my engine back together and have the shortblock back together on the engine stand.I set the oilpan on without the gasket to double check the clearence when i turn the engine over by hand. Well the pan wouldn't set flush on the block, because it hit the oil pickup...
Re: OHIO MOFO's! Let's do this!
I would love to come if the motor wasn't out of my truck. Hell I don't think I have put 1000 miles on my truck since I got it. I could always bring the duramax up
Re: Main cap ?
Well I pulled the rest of engine apart and got even more suprises. This isn't an original syty engine like I was told. The block isn't orginal. The engine has TRW pistons with 9.72 compression ratio( wonder if thats why it was knocking so bad) It has a Crane came part# 184111...
Thanks for the offer Mike. I will take you up on that when I get things figured out here. I haven't been able ot work on the truck much lately. My parents sold there house and are moving to Mount Vernin. So me and my girlfriend am looking for a place of our own right now.
Does anybody know anything about the new part number for our map sensors. GM parts direct doesn't show anything for the 2 bar map part # and the 3 bar # says that it will be switching to a new number.
No I'm not getting any codes. The O2's are cross counting pretty good back and forth. If I un hook the O2 sensor it will idle just fine all day. I don't have a 2 bar map to put it back to stock. IAC is in the 20's
