So my friend calls me up today and wants me to put some gauges in his new cobra,so i go to his shop to pick up the car and there are some younger kids there low 20s id say,and they are all talking about racing so i am listening in ,typical ricer"my car is makeing 500 hp i have beaten vipers and my friend says that my honda is the fastest car he has ever been in etc etc"this went on for a hour so then my buddy mentions my sy and the kid says i heard about that truck my friend wants to race u and said he will smoke u ,in this honda,im llike ok maybe,knowing not a chance in hell he has,so his mommy has money and wants to race this weekend for 1000 bucks from a dead stop so my ?i have shitty cam2 in the truck because the only place that sells c116 is 40 min away so i am at 15 psi do i just race him like this or go get the gas tommorow so i can run full?his mods built motor ,turbo etc guess the car is kinda decent and he says he has a 500hp dyno sheet ,which means nothing,what u guys think ,cam 2 low power or go get the good stuff?

yeah thats what im thinnking it will be on the street from a stop no bullshit car lengths etc,i figure 116 so hopefully i can make him really look bad i hope ,but i am kinda sure i will win,but i dont underestimate anyone or anything like most guys do ,but i am pretty sure on this one

It's gonna be pretty hard for any Honda to beat you with the set-up you have. I never underestimate anyone either, but I think you can win with or without the 116. I mean think about it, the car probably has a manual transmission and who knows if this kid can drive or not. On the street, I'll take AWD Turbo-charged over FWD manual any day of the week. I realize it's a lot easier for me to say because it's your money and not mine, but If I were in that situation I'd go for it.:rock: You only live once and sometimes an adreniline rush costs a grand!

The honda is on street tires? No matter what power he has then won't matter. I'd personally get the 116 just cuz a grand is on the line. But like everyone said you should beat him pretty bad. What are you racing too? Is it a 1/4mile or determined mph? He's gonna be quick once he gets traction, but that won't be till at least 80 if he has some decent power.

Worry more about collecting the money from him . Easy win . Have someone neutral hold the money up front and laugh all the way to the bank .

Don't feel bad, their stupid for running their mouth without getting the facts. Plus truthfully it is a S15 with a V-6, it just has a couple extra go fast parts, the same as him.

I've been put in the same situation plenty of times.. they're thinking the normal 350/383 swapped into an s10 with horrible traction but when they see it's a syclone there tune changes and either call off the money run in favor run for fun or start crying they want the hit or a lengh or two lol

I say since there's cash on the line... and nothing's known about this car i'd go for the good gas plus it'll be a safer bet so you minimize the possibility of hurting your motor for this handjob.

Street tires + FWD vs AWD = easy money
