16psi+ with PTE setup

Just went to a PTE-54 and the ultimate 50lb programs, etc and I know i'll need to purchase some sort of boost controller soon, but I was wondering if anyone has had success controlling boost higher than 15psi just by shortening the WG rod or is the boost inconsistent when trying this ?

Just curious if this is an option I can explore on a short-term basis....

well, you can always go ghetto boost control, and put a "t" in the vacuum line, and change the size of the "t" whole, and doing so, well change your boost levels.

yes that works. thats what i have been doing. i have found tho, that if your running a heads and cam chip that isnt perfectly tuned to your combination, that you will get about 2~3psi of fluctuation. the biggest boost being after the TC lockes up (motor under the greatest load) i have heard..... that the stock motor calibrations are better matched out of the box and that the boost control is better, because the fueling is closer to dead on. still.... if i had to guess id say your not gonna be able to get it closer than ~1 psi of fluctuation until you get some sort of control over the wastgate, weather it be manual or chip control. but then again i would consider ~1 psi of fluctuation to be very tolerable. hope this helps.

naw, thats too nice. i'm talking ghettofaboluz with just putting vacuum "t" and leaving one side open, to control boost.

That boost controller is not ghetto...

They are great... a TON of the DSM guys use them and run low 11's with crisp boost control

I use a manual boost controller too... 40 bucks.

i will go with a hks or an innovative, like the one you are running.

I think i paid 400 for the innovative, there is nothing wrong with the atr one, it has been in alot of fast trucks, since you already have the atr you could just use it and spend 400 on something else.

I had no problems with the atr wastegate, the only reason i bought the innovative wastegate is because i bought the innovative boost controller to go with it.
