I was in my hometown of Melville, Saskatchewan for a funeral this last weekend and before I left I was searching the Auto Trader and came across a 1993 Typhoon for sale there! I couldn't believe it, but it turns out the owner of the local dealership has been selling his collection of collectable cars over the last few years and he only has a few left, including this forest green/grey Typhoon. He is asking $16,000, which I think is too much for the current market but it sounds like he is flexible and this truck is in great condition. Also, an out of province purchaser doesn't have to pay the PST! My appraisal notes are below under each picture. Here is the contact information:

I have no vested interested in this truck except to see it stay in Canada! Glenn spent an hour with me even though I was up front about it being too expensive. Let's face it, with a new transmission in the works for the Sy I'm not in the market for another truck right now. But, I thought I would give him some local exposure to help this truck find a good home.
First thing to note is that this truck is a Japanese re-import. You can tell by the signal lights mounted on the side of the front quarter panels. These lights are not very nice and would need to be replaced with something that sticks out less! Also the wiring for the front signals would need some work.
Glenn told me that he bought this truck from someone in Edmonton, not Tony Turbo though, he was sure about that! He said that he had it shipped to Melville, parked it and hasn't driven it since.
The wax on the cladding has started to break down which is why it looks so dusty. Underneath everything is in really great shape, and except for the holes for the front license place, is in flawless condition.
The only body imperfection aside from the addition of the front signal lights is on the bottom of the rear window on the passenger side where some paint has flecked off, about the size of a dime. No rust yet but I could see it being a trouble spot.
Underneath the hood is immaculate! It was obviously detailed before it was sold/shipped. There is no grease anywhere and all of the cavities under the throttle body are clean. When we ran the truck I could smell the dust being burnt off which went away after a few minutes. I couldn't spot any obvious modification, it looked as stock as they come.
Because it was in Japan the backup light has been moved to down by the bumper and the signal moved to where the backup light was. That is really easy to change, or so I have heard.
Inside the back is a spare tire in the original leather case. Included with the truck are all of the original manuals.
Inside was the nicest, cleanest interior I have ever seen. The leather on the seats was in great shape and squeaky clean! Unlike many re-imports, this truck had no strange modifications made to the dash, it was in perfect shape. However, the original radio is gone but in it's place is a Sony CD-Player.
When we ran the truck I could tell that it had at least a 3-bar MAP sensor and possibly a modified chip because the built-in boost gauge was reading -10 on idle, not the -15 you would see with a 2-bar. It warmed up quickly and I was able to build 7-8 pounds boost very quickly. We didn't drive it so I can't speak to how it handles on the road.
I'm wondering if it possibly got a Nolan tune if it passed through Edmonton on its way to Melville.
Seriously though, this is a very nice truck. Only 50K miles and you could tell from the way it looked that it was a low mileage vehicle.
If anyone can help fill in the back story I would appreciate it!
Also in the shop was this rare 1995 Corvette. Only 525 were ever made and only 6 are in Canada. If can be yours for $40K! Personally I would go for the Z28 Camaro, not sure how much that one is going for.
