This just added to the gathering:

Steve Treece of Carolina Shine has given us a Zaino Bros. Products sample box. We are going to use this as a give-a-way to the car/truck with the best appearance. So clean and shine up your trucks, because we will be looking at them all!!

I will be without the Ty this year. I was planning on riding the XX to the track but it's going to be 32 degrees for a low and 52 for a high  If I ride I will wait for it to warm up a bit and just meet you guys at the track. I'll be the one in full leathers, frozen in the crotch rocket position.

ARG :(

I just saw the updated weather forcast for the Charlotte area. Low Sat. 28 and high 48.

I'm starting to whimp out on the motorcycle ride now.

Sorry, you had to work, Myclone. I know that sucked. So much for long term (2 day) weather forecasting. Beautiful mid 60's with light wind and clear blue sky.

Not many Syclones or Typhoons. I think 3 Ty's and 2 Sy's. The cat prints were worth some extra ponies as E-RUE had the best of the trucks time at 7.5 consistantly.

I did get a 7.3 but it was on the Honda blackbird. My Sierra C3 could only manage a 10.1. (time for nitrous).

I think the fastest GN was a big turbo custom car that ran 5.21. It was wearing a huge 83 turbo or something like that and had a spare 92 in the trailer. Wow that thing was bad.

Me, John and Brandon were on the side lines this time but we'll be ready next time.

Cool.. Wish I coulda went(work is gonna pay for this one.. I see some donated myclone parts in their future  ) but I couldnt make it happen.

E called and left a message on my cel after the event... He sounded like he'd just hit the lottery LOL.. I dont blame him as hes been working the bugs out of that truck for a while now. He deserves the great times.

Congrats bro.

[note to self: time to get going on that build of mine since engineer boy has whupped up on ol lumpy.. start planning which bank I need to rob]

Lewis made a few good runs also. The 5 sec GN was Richie Kibbler ..awesome car! As always, my Ty kept the others company on the sidelines. Nice day and good turnout! Good job putting it together again NC Turbos!

Some highlights for me:

1.) While changing to sticky tires on Drew's car, having it fall off the jack and stands, and almost crush me underneath it!!

2.) Driving Drew's car to its 1st 7 sec pass (7.48 @ 93.3 mph) while blowing a headgasket 200 feet from the 1/8 mi. mark!!

3.) Trailering Drew's car back to Rock Hill!! :-?

I'm glad everyone could make it!! Hopefully next year I'll have more time to talk to all, and not spend so much time working on others cars!

E: No, that was Chris Walker that probably blew a HG when you were running. We lost Drew's car around 4:30 or so, it was one of the last passes before the track closed. It was a gray T not a GN.

Stupid??!! Yeah, you'd think I'd know better after working on cars for the past 11+ years! The things we do for that "one last pass"!!
