$58 boost control

How flat of boost have some of you been able to get with $58 on a stock turbo and stock wg setup?

I'm also curious what RPM you hit your target boost.

This is just to hold me over until spring, I can't spend any more money on car crap until next year, so no 3bar for a while, otherwise I'd be running code 59.

Depends on the exhaust. With a fairly restrictive exhaust, you can get it as flat as any aftermarket controller. You may want to play around in F70 & F71, but the factory hardware is more than adequate.

Re: $58 boost control

Is it possible to hit, say 14.5 psi and hold that steadily throughout the rpm range? Right now I hit 14.4, it holds and drops to 13, goes back up to 14.5, drops again and then shift comes and it drops more. I'm still working on it but if I get it to stay within 1 psi would it be best to call it good?

Edit: This is on stock everything

Most would probably call that good, but you can achieve the stability you desire. Dig wrote some extra wg control years ago in the form of F70_mph and F71_mph that allows you to anticipate boost drops/spikes with the wg control. What bin are you using and what tuning software?

I'm on stock bin, all I've really done is turn off egr and change fueling a bit so far. Do you have a stock bin with those tables added? I'm using TP5. Also, you have a pm

I found an xdf with the tables for mph wastegate duty cycles, but they say that mods to the bin are necessary. It looks like all 3 tables have the same address too, is that right? How do I go about changing the bin, or does someone have one that's already modified?
