Checked the fuel pressure today, trying to track down some other problems. At idle, pressure stays solid aroud 65 psi on my gauge. That seems a little high??
65 psi fuel press. Too much?

42 PSI with the vac line plugged is stock I beleave but you should use a scan tool and go up from there to see if your rich or lean at wait point etc...
That is way high IMO. Did you disconnect the vac line? If not then the static pressure is even higher. Do you have an adjustable regulator? Remember 1 psi of boost raises the fuel pressure by 1 psi. Your 65 psi is 80 psi at 15 psi of boost!
You did not tell us about your build but if you are stock then 65 is wrong. Make sure your gauge is correct too.

Previous owner installed a 255 pump. Other than that, truck is stock except for a high flow cat & re routed IC lines. Seems as if I need an adjustable regulator to turn it down. What pressure should I be shooting for?

Swapped the gauge from my mustang, seems to be working fine now. About 42 psi with the vaccum connected.
