93 Ty #1036 Tampa Bay, FL

This is #1036. It has 104K miles on the clock. Just about everything on the truck is new or rebuilt. It got a built short block back in 2003 and it appears that very few miles were put on it since then. It is said to have a rebuilt tranny but I don't have documentation for that. The top end of the engine was just rebuilt.

The truck has fresh paint, new windshield, new power window motors/regulators, new tires, solid motor mounts, high pressure fuel pump, new distributor, new starter, new catalytic converter, new adjustable fuel pressure regulator, fresh cylinder heads with pinned rocker studs, ARP head bolts, Victor Renz head gaskets, ZQ8 steering gear box, heavy duty steering shaft, ABS delete, fresh tune up, silicone vacuum lines, and an upgraded intercooler pump. The exhaust is ceramic coated and I welded in another bung for the addition of a wide band O2 sensor. I have a 2 guage pillar pod but didn't get around to buying guages for it. The paint job was professional and it looks great even close up.

The interior is in good shape but shows its age a little. There are scuff marks here and there and three smaller tears in the leather at the top of the rear seat.

Here is my cardomain page with a lot more pictures: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2477250

The truck had been repainted before I got it and it obviously wasn't a quality job. I replaced all metal that unbolts from the truck and had it professionaly done. There are a couple of areas of slight overspray from the previous job visible if you really look for it....only on one side of the rear hatch glass(hard to explain) and on one of the front turn signal amber covers. The high beam switch in the steering column also broke and I haven't gotten around to fixing it. The truck has also always had a noise in the front differential under deceleration since I got it.

I just took the family in the truck on a weekend tent camping trip. During that trip I came to the realazation that the Ty is too small for such things and the family's needs are only getting bigger. Right now I could use a family truckster more than a toy.

I realize that these aren't really selling these days so I am also considering trades. For trades, I would be most interested in a truck or another larger SUV. I need something that would hold 4 comfortably. I also have a thing for 60's Mustangs....................... I'm willing to make an even trade or trade down. I have it listed locally at $9,000.

If anyone wants additional pics over what is in cardomain just let me know what you want and I will take and then send them to you.

A picture or two would help.

Oh, the driver's rear corner cladding is fiberglass. All other cladding is intact.

Re: 93 Ty #1036 Tampa Bay, FL

I decided to take the truck out last night to do a DM run on it since I haven't done one in a long time. It's the first time I went WOT with the truck since doing the top end rebuild on the motor. During the little I drive it, it's normally just poking around never even getting into the turbo.

Anyway, the vibration at higher rpm seems to be back. It did this when I first got the truck. I had DM running and it showed a top of 4.4 KR when it did this. I got out of the throttle at the first hint of the vibration so I don't know what it would have done if I ran it up past 4K.

I have no idea why it did this. Everything with the ignition except the coil is new. The fueling mods are in my sig. A few new sensors are in there. Stock motor and electronics.

If anyone wants to give offers on this, bring them. I'm taking the above into account with what I would expect to get for it. I'm not going to give it away though....it runs around town just fine driving normally.

Re: 93 Ty #1036 Tampa Bay, FL

As was mentioned in the post I have linked in one of these posts, I took the air tube cross over off and found that it was cracked and about to feed itself to the turbo. The turbo did not ingest anything and is just fine. But now I'm stuck with a broken cross over and no desire to relocate my battery. So there is one more to do with this truck. But that list is small IMO.

Sucks to see you selling it. Hopefully it'll stay in florida and come to our meets.

I have tried to get it to several meets but there is always something that prevents me from going. This year's Shindig is the same day as my wedding anniversary.

Tell her there's no better way to show your love then to bring her to a syty meet. And maybe mention your selling yours... And how much its breaking your heart to do. ;)

Re: 93 Ty #1036 Tampa Bay, FL

I have thrown several hundred more in new parts at the truck with no change. New balancer, power steering pump(it started leaking)/pressure side hose, and GM coil. It has zero knock retard now with a new balancer. In neutral, I can feel a vibration around 1500, it goes away, and then slighter vibration around 4K. Under throttle, that 4K vibration is prominent. But it is smooth as silk in between even under moderate boost.

At this point I am done blindly throwing parts at it. I'm ready to move it at 6K. I'll continue to drive it and if something breaks then I will make my money back in parts.

I assume you mean under body shots. No problem. I don't have access to a lift so I'll do the best I can on my belly. I'll try and work on getting those up tomorrow.

Contact number is......well I'll PM that to you.

Bottom of pass door. That spec you see in the picture is a seed pod thing from the tree in my front yard. There is no rust.

Pass side wheel well shot since I had the tire off:

The oil you see on the cross member is remnents of the power steering pump I just put on. Some splashed on the driver's side frame rail too. I had it overfull when I took it out for a test drive and it puked a little.

Example of body mount:

I never took the truck back to the paint shop for any fine adjustments. This is an example:

The tailgate pops out a little when fully closed. It looks like all that needs to be done is move the stiker pins back.

Re: 93 Ty #1036 Tampa Bay, FL

Gotta pass on that. I'm not interested in taking on a car payment or having a motor cycle. But, thanks for the offer.

EDIT: I thought I recognized that screen name. Looking to get back into the community, huh?

Re: 93 Ty #1036 Tampa Bay, FL

The latest trade I had set up fell through and I am sick of this thing sitting in the garage. So I'm gonna pull the tranny and figure this thing out.

The 6K price tag no longer applies.
