About the rattle ?

hello Im about to buy an tuned typhoon with stock suspension for a daily driving.
I have read on some swedish formuns that the typhoon is like very unstable, whole interior is like shaking and the truck is just not comfortable to drive every day, and that was also one reason there only around 5000 built.

Is this true or pure bullshit? Is the typhoon a comfortable truck to drive all day long and not feeling like it falling apart?

Im not that good on eng grammar as u can see but i hope to get understand :)

Stock height and if it has been maintained it should ride very well. It is not going to handle like a sports car. It is a SUV.

I put most of my shaking down to the fact that it sits for long periods and flat spots the tyres. As it dosen't do a lot of miles either, and the tyres have hardened with age the flat spotting causes the 'shaking' you are probably describing.
If I use mine 'regularly' which I occasionally do, the shaking subsides significantly, but my tyres are old, so dosen't go away completely any more.
As for being unstable, if the steering and suspension are maintained, they are fine. However, the stock steering box is a little vague, but easy to 'upgrade'. Like has already been stated, its an SUV with technology designed in the late 1970's.
The rear window hinges tend to rattle a little when it 'shakes'.

Everyone who lives in warmer states has no idea what horrible roads will do to the driving experience of a Typhoon. If you live in a cold climate with terrible roads, they are nightmares to drive. Rattles, shaking, squeaking, etc. are the norm. One of the reasons I sold mine, just sucked.

Re: About the rattle ?

A lot of the rattles and vibrations could be original parts worn, or at the limit of the life expectancy? Prop shaft can cause a disturbing vibration, or rattle.. The seals or bearings gone in the front diff or transfer case can cause some problematic shaking.

Who knows the condition of this said truck you have your eye on. With out actually looking it over in person your really going to not know the exacts. Could be a ball joint or something along the lines of a wheel hub bearing. And yes thinking about it, Could be all from the roads? Previously hit a bad wallow or dip in road? jam the suspension so hard it bend a rim somewhere you can not see it ? Really got to start crawling around and looking at the underside of the truck. Look for grease escaping tie-rods, ball joints, upper/lowers. Steering links.

I bought a truck and it was in very poor condition. Most of the stuff I named I have seen problem areas. Buy cheaper replacment parts and you can count on the stuff being bad.

Dont base your decisions on other's opinions. Go drive the truck at both highway and daily driving speeds and find out for yourself if you like it or not.

Don't get into the truck with Corvette/Porsche/Ferrari standards, otherwise, yes....you will be disappointed. Just as wildphil pointed out....it's a SUV, expect it to handle and ride like one. It's not a sports car by any means.

The trucks are 20+ years old now. They are all going to rattle and squeak to a degree.
