Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

I need to replace the AFPR on my Syclone (The stock one is pretty much falling apart).

I have never replaced a FPR/AFPR before and need some help, like an outline of what needs to be done.

I was also told that I needed to drain the tank to replace the AFPR, but I don't see why that would be necessary.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Sean

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

start the truck, pull the fuse for the fuel pump so you drain all the fuel in the lines

fpr is held to the rail by two bolts remove these
the fuel line is one larger nut loosen it.
pull out fpr towards passenger side

its real easy man should take no more than 30 min

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

thanks bud, i really appreciate it.

Now if only I could get myself to stop looking at svo mustangs ( I had one before my syclone that wasn't in the best of shape body wise, but was great mechanically. Thinking about getting me another one to go with the Syclone in a couple years, although i wonder what the wife will say.)

Thanks again

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

dunno if it depressurizes by draining the fuel lines by pulling the fuse but it might be a good idea to loosen the gas cap before you begin

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

Changed mine yesterday and fixed my major idle issue. Stock regulator was weak and when I put in the Walbro it just fried it. System wasnt holding pressure. With stock regulator FP would rise to 45 and then go ape sh*t and spike to 95! Put in the new AFPR (thank you raceprovenmotors :) ) and now the truck is very very happy.
