The one on the Duramax diesel trucks. It's humongous. I don't think it's happenin. My pops owns a D-Max though with the Allison and it's a stout setup. Very fun with Edge box, intake and exhaust.
:edit: oh wait, 6-speed. Hmm, maybe the newer D-Maxs? Probably still huge though.

There are both 5 and 6 speed versions of the Allison available. Usually found behind either DMax's or 8.1's. From what I understand, they're beasts. Dimensionally much bigger than a 4L80E, and a fair bit heavier too.
The 6L80E is just now available in the truck platforms, started with the new Tahoe, and should be available now in the new Silverado / Sierra. The 6L80E might be a good swap, if / when somebody comes up with a controller for it.
EDIT: Went and looked for info on the Allison 6 speed. Available starting in '06. Weight is 150kg dry (no fluid) which is about 330 lbs (plus the weight of 13+ quarts of fluid).

I've spoken with several transmission builders about the 6L80E, including George, and the consensus so far seems to be that it's not ready for high levels of power. I'm hoping with a few more years of development work it will hold some good torque, because a 4 + 2 OD setup would be perfect for my Chevelle

It's strength defenitely is not proven. I would give it a few years of developement. It's got the "cool" factor but other than that...no. I wouldn't do it. The 6L80e has it's own controller on the valvebody. The trick is feeding the inputs to the controller in a format that it can understand. It will be done but for right now, you can't even buy one from the dealer. It took us a while to get the 4L80e to work and guys still can't accept it. It took 10+ years to get all the bugs worked out of the 4L80e....just in time to bring out the 6l80e....then the process starts over.

I seriously doubt you could even fit an Allison in a Sy/Ty. Have you see the physical size of it? Its huge.

They really arent THAT big, big yes but not hugely oversized. The allison wont fit in our trucks w/o tunnel fab work.
As for the 6 speed, they are in all the new Dmax's but are slower than the 5 speeds at least with Edge's testing that has been done. I hope to own an 01-03 (LB7) Dmax in the not to distant future to haul my sy with.
