Another sub and amp install using road signs

Well, I thought I would put and amp and bass tube in the Ty, as I had them on the shelf. Using some handy road signs that I was given by the road department, here is the story.

Bottom view of the sign bolted to the Weathertech floor liner:

Top view:

I prefer the lower speed limit signs, as they seem to be better taken care of, anyway, I digress.

Another sign repurposed to hold the bass tube. Old on left, new on right.

Nice fit in the amp cooling fins:

Add some cheap aluminum stock from Ace Hardware ($12), and the mockup is complete:

Installed. It ain't going nowhere. You can see the 10 Ga. amp wire that I ran along the frame rail, and under the rear door weatherstrip. I did not want to cut any holes, and it can't be seen unless you let the gate down:

Plenty of room left for groceries.

Interesting configuration. I would never have thought of that. I bought a refurb powered Bazooka 6" tube for my single cab s10. Sounds pretty good for the space it takes up.

Is it mounted down to anything other than the floor mat? I had stuff floating around the back of a jeep Cherokee back in my days of testing the limits of my hearing. I was run off the road by an oil delivery guy taking his half from the middle. My jeep broad sided a a tree near pretty much on the center of the rear wheel. Long story short, an optima yellow top, two Orion 15" subs, and four amps decided they were exiting the vehicle. The battery was 75 feet from the jeep when it was all said and done. Be creative, and find a way to mount those "missiles in the event of you rear ending someone" to something. Remember, some really bad auto-x driver could hit enough cones in your truck to launch your missile.
