well how about explaining why they are "a joke"...im not trying to be an ass but you cant just say they are a joke and not explain why. i already looked up a search and found that the pitbull chip was crap to you guys but nothing on their performance stages.

ok, im looking at the stages in the link i posted above and im thinking that its a McCoy stg 4 kit and not ATR. it seems they do ust atr driveshafts though. so since the kit isnt atr maybe ill be ok?

ATR is a joke.

use people for what they are good at.
ATR makes good headers and exhaust.
dont use them for the other stuff.

use your noggin.

you wouldnt go to a tire store to have your motor rebuilt would you?

All i'd use from them nowadays are their cat backs.. and maybe some miscellaneous items.

You can do effective intercooler mods for pretty cheap, do searching / FAQ reading on that.

Their downpipe setup is a mess, as it uses a crappy wastegate and won't let you reach the #6 plug.

The headers - power gain is debatable it seems, and they can have issues (leaking/cracking) as well as #1 plug is hard to reach.

Honestly, they are useable pieces, and many have gone fast with them, but bang for the buck they are not. See how fast you want to go, decide on some goals, come back here, read up, talk to some people and decide what's best.

Read this next sentence several times, so it sinks in.

An inexperienced syty owner spending lots of money on catalog parts WILL create huge amounts of frustration.

ok, thanks for the tips...i forgot to mention my goals and why i was looking at this kit and why i was asking for help,

one of the main reasons im asking for help is so that i dont mess anything up, i've always done things as close to right as possible so that nothing gets screwed up.

another reason im looking at this kit is because i'm hopping to run in the mid to low 12 sec on pump gas (91 oct) or even faster with race gas, ive read that its easily attained as long as you have the tools to monitor your truck. now if this McCoy kit isnt what its cracked up to be then can someone please post a link so that i dont have to go through 400+ posts of everything but what im looking for...and besides im friends with a guy that has an 02 lightning that needs an attitude adjustment!!!!

i know im new here and im not trying to ruffle anyones feathers here but all im trying to do is get experience and do things right. ive done searches and looked back over months of material and nothing seems to help.

im not new to modifying cars, ive helped tune many types of cars...from r33 skyline gtr's to bmw m3's, to simple vw/misc import tuning. im not sure if im using the search wrong or just asking the wrong questions, so if someone can point me in the right direction or something
id really appreciate it.

thanks

There are really so many variable,so you really need to plan the total package.Do a little bit more research on this board, and you'll find out everything you need to know.
Is this a stock truck? How much you wanna spend?

Basically a chip, fuel pump and a FPR and tuning can get you in the 12's.

SYTY SUPERSTORE
I dont want to butt in here, but you may want to check out this link. We are a shop in Los Angeles, so i think we are pretty close to eachother.

http://www.raceprovenmotors.com/Onlinecatalogue/sytycatalogue/stagemmods/stagemods.htm

The items in the stage lists can be purchased separately, but it will be helpful for you to check off what you do and dont have. Basically you are going to need the following sooner then later:

APR
FUel Pump
160 thermostat
3" Exhaust
3" Downpipe and turbo upgrade
A/A intercooler
Ultimate chip (50# injectors would be recommended now that we have good programs for them) and 3 bar map sensor
Battery Relocation kit
3" cold air kit
2800 stall converter
Built transmission
.. and of course, solid tune up and scan tool to tune your truck.

if you need any help, let me know. You have come to the right place and many people here on the list can provide outstanding information.
