ok just to warn you guys first i have no experience with turbos and/or really know anything about them. my question is will putting a bov on the ty increase hp? decrease hp? how do they work and what is their function?

No increase or decrease.

Please do a search on BOV and you will find more discussion on them that is necessary for ANY automotive part.

bov helps with when you get off the gas. any extra boost will exit the BOV and not try to go bcak into the turbo.
which in turn keeps the turbo spinnin the same way. which will help spool up faster when you get back in the gas. really no hp gain with. its like insurance for your turbo

Yea but the duck call def makes hunting easier I use mine all the time I just sit in the Sy rev it up let it sound off and bang bang. Now if I could only get my hands on a Marlboro then I wouldn't even have to lean out the window anymore.

so the BOV will mount between the turbo and the intake manifold? will i need to fab it on or do they sell a kit for this? sorry guys i know i sound like an idiot but i truely have no experience with this shit. but i do like the duck call thing that was kinda funny, i like saying shit like that when ppl ask me about air ride suspension.

yep, between turbo compressor housing and intake manifold. for these truck, i've pretty much seen everyone have them fabbed up... should bag your truck :lol:

im kidding.

I short "J" bend of aluminum or steel, a welder and a few hundred dollars is all you need.

heres mine. i got a piece of aluminum pipe with a 90 fegree bend. i cut it to fit. and had the flange for the BOV welded on.

what brands of blow off valves do you guys use? what will be a good one to buy if im not going over 25lbs?

I use a TurboXS which is VERY loud. I love to pieces and so do old ladies walkin foo foo after dinner. Let me know if you want to see a pic.
