Brake line flare question with pics.

I'm trying to adapt the rubber lines from my C5 rear calipers to fit a steel line that I'm making to run along the rear axle. The rubber line has an inverted flare to it, and I got some "bubble flare" lines at the part store but am not sure if these are correct to match up. The tag says "US thread/Bubble flare", but then it also says "British" on it. Anybody know if this is right? The guy at the parts counter wasn't real helpful.

Bubble flair is different and normally used on British cars only, you want just a standard double flair, Your flex line should have a relatively flat bottom in it for the double flair, where the bubble flair with have an indent to match the bubble.(Kind of hard to see which yours is in the picture, but it's more than likely just a normal double flair with a metric threaded nut) They do make adapters to go from one to the other, but i would recommend just getting the right ones.

Re: Brake line flare question with pics.

The corvette line has a dish-shaped bottom, which looks to be the opposite of what would mate up to our trucks' double flare. Have you ever seen the "T" fitting on the brake lines on our rear axles? This is the fitting that distributes the fluid to both rear wheels. When you look inside, there is a distinct cone shape that protrudes OUTWARD from the fitting so that our double flares snug up tight. The corvette line goes INWARD, which wouldn't seem to seal up to our lines very well. It's probably not the bubble flare that I need, but I don't think it's the double flare that will work either. I'm having no luck searching the net for this.
