Could you make the 2 small t-shirts that Jay ordered 2 medium ones instead. I think the kidlets would like them a little bit bigger. (So we need 2 Large, 2 Medium and 1 really small) And if you can't get extra small for the baby.....then small will do. I am very good at shrinking stuff. Ask Jay.

This is one event that I will not miss. I will not be running anything that weekend however. The Ugly truck should be running again by then but, I doubt it would be capable of the 3 hour trip to Edmonton.

Hello all,

I'm hoping to meet up with everyone on Friday night (looks like we'll be going on a bit of a cruise around that night)

Anyway, I'm leaving this Thurs. (as in July 29th) to go camping up in the Okanagon (then I'll be heading from there to Alberta next week) I'll be staying in Sylvan Lake with some friends, should be there by Thurs. Aug 5.

Anyway I wont have access to a computer after this Thursday so I was hoping that I could get an idea of where to meet up on the Friday (Aug. 6) with everyone. Or if we dont have an exact time/place yet, perhaps someone would be willing to PM me with their phone number so I can contact you on the Friday and arrange to meet up.

Ok one more thing.
I put some new wheels on the Sy a couple months ago. THey're the Z06 rims with 17's up front and 18x10.5 out back. To fit the 18's I'm running a 1/2" spacer, I did replace the studs with longer ARP racing studs (studs were cut down to be 1/2" longer than stock to accomodate the spacer).

But am I going to have a problem with Tech at the track if I'm using the spacers? If I take them off, I can still run the 18's but they're REALLY close to the frame/inside fender well. I would much rather be able to leave them on since I dont have enough room in the box with all my camping stuff to bring my stock wheels.

Does anyone know if they allow wheel spacers or not?

I got back from Edmonton last night after the 1st annual Canadian SYTY Nationals in Bud Park, and I must say that it was the most impressive model specific event that I have been to.

I was glad to finally meet these people that I have had hundreds of conversations with on-line and on the phone. All that I can say is that this group is even more friendly/knowledgeable in person.

After spending a few hours in the pit area, getting to recognize names-faces-trucks became less difficult. At first, most of the trucks looked similar until I started to see the subtle( and some not so subtle) differences between them.

The full range of trucks were represented. Stock Syclones and Typhoons were parked next to their 10 second siblings.

Yep is sure did turn out to be a fun weekend all the props go to Cam Scott!!!!! He did all the planning including having some kick ass shirts made!!! Thanks Cam!!

I loved the way we got so many runs at the track I finally got to do some tweaking on my truck since making some changes. But the one thing I did miss is having more time to talk to people at the track that day.

Some quick numbers and my memory is not so good after all those strongbows on Saturday night. so Let me know and I will correct it.

Dean Higson - Typhoon 11.36@119.5 mph on pump gas (meth injection) We just got the truck together and have not dialed it in yet. Oh and a 1.56 60" damn nice runs.

Steve Parfett - Syclone 11.03 @ ??? truck ran 11.teens and 11.0 all day just needs some small little tweaks and it will be a consistant high 10 truck.


Turbo Tony - Syclone 10.99 @ 123 with the truck breaking up to bad we finaly found out how long those denso's last.

Mark Campbell - Syclone 11.84 @ 114mph all day truck runs hard with a modded 20G and no drag radials. lots more potential in this truck.

Ed Plaizer - Typhoon 13.87 @???? stock Typhoon Eddy races a funny car that runs 6.60's so it was nice of him to come out and race with the slow guys. He just could not get used to sitting at the line building boost.Big change of pace for him.

Jeff (Ozrein) - Syclone 14.2@???? stock Syclone this was his first time at the track and he was learning the art of boost launch. He did very good for his first time. It all starts from here now your screwed!!!!I want to go faster.

I ran 10.95@123.81 Truck is runing strong again and now that I am back on track hope to start lowering that number.

Well first off I'd like to thank everyone for coming out and making it a successful and fun event. And yes, we were lucky the weather did finally decide to cooperate.

And yes, we will be doing it again next year and it should be bigger 'n' better. We've had some interst in sponsorships. The track wants us back, I guess we impressed alot staff, spectators and other drag racers.

Our truck count should be alot bigger next year as well, this time we had alot of broken trucks and a few that just couldn't make it.

Dean let me take his Typhoon for a run down the track since I was not running mine, all I have to say is WOW, that thing is an animal already and it's got alot left in it! Thanks Dean

TurboTony should :drinking: more often.

What can I say these truck are an obsession, I had way too much fun! Now I can wait to do it all over again next year.

That was a great time! From seeing 7 SyTy's in Nolan's driveway Friday night, through a day of racing on a well prepped track, and into a night of company with good friends...that was a great weekend. Sorry I had to miss Sunday's events. I can't wait for next year. I might even remember to take all my underwear home next year.

Big thanks to Cam for organizing everything, and for logging a lot of hours working on my Typhoon with Tony and Nolan. I know both projects require a big commitment. Thanks also to Harold for sponsoring our T-shirts. I had a good look at mine when I got home and they have got to be the highest quality I have seen in such a shirt.

And finally big thanks to my two good friends Tony and Nolan, without whom I certainly would not have the Typhoon I have now. But more importantly I'd miss the 2 am tech sessions on Nolan's couch when I stay over. Now the real fun begins trying to inch up on a 10 second timeslip on alky in the next year. It was funny watching everyone prep to leave the track while I twiddled my thumbs...I could get used to that. 8) Cheers guys and girls.
