Who is interested in going to carlisle truck nats?? We want this to try to be a gathering spot for sy/ty guys in the Pa area. Post if you are interested in getting together. The date is Aug 4-6 :friends:

Yes I know it is a repost, it was a joint post with all gm nats. We are trying to get more members to some shows and not many replied to the last post.

Actually we didn't get a drop Tom - only a buttload of sunburn. We had a grand total of...3 trucks. (Down slightly from the 20-some we had a few years ago.) I doubt I'll go to the truck nats, I can only handle so many 5000 watt lowrider Mazda trucks, monster trucks, and big rigs, along with the douchebags that think everyone should bow down to them for the 2 hours they spent "customizing" their ride. (I'm into fast rides, so I go to the GM show.) I spent years coordinating get-togethers for the region, and it just got old - everyone said they'd show, nobody does anymore. We used to do the truck show before they started the GM show, but once the GM show started we only ever got a few at the truck show. (Apparently I wasn't the only one who wasn't into the show.) I've since stepped back from the local organizing (helping with the Nats now) and now we only get a few SyTy's for either show. Not sure if the "owner pride" has taken the off-ramp as the prices have dropped or what, but 10 years ago when I first joined folks couldn't wait to get together - that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
Don't let me stop you from going - if you like those types of rides it's a really cool show. I'm just sick of going there, looking at the few SyTy's, and leaving with a splitting headache. There is usually some pretty nice scenery though. :tup:

At least it didnt rain. I know almost everywhere i went this past weekend from Hershey pa to here in Westminster got a ton of rain.
I havent enjoyed the last couple truck nats i went to at carlisle because of exactly what your talking about. I didnt go at all last year because of it. I figure if enough sy/ty people were committed i would join the group for a little while saturday. but, if no one is going to be there than i guess im no one too I wont be going to the nationals this year but would like to make it to some get-together around here. Didnt make it down to the last local one so i guess ill keep my eyes open for something else close. until then, ill probably hit a couple local shows and be the "turbo s10" that is so facinating to the ignorant locals...

Im still planning on going to the truck nats. If we get together and have a good time you tend to ignore all the little import trucks. Hope to see a few other sy/tys there.

I am interested in any TY/SY gathering. I want to go to the truck nats but didn't realize there will be all those 5k watt trucks and all that stuff I'm not into. I would love a GM performance get together show, GN's, TTA and us GN TY/SY owners. We would have a great time!!!

Yeah that would be great, but nobody wants to set up anything. There was just super chevy at maplegrove, which is a factory show, no big stereos, lots of gm muscle and I was the only sy there and one ty there. At carlisle, there is not as much cruising as there used to be since they stopped the camping on the grounds. If we get enough people together at carlisle you tend to ignore some of the other s@#t that goes on there. Im also up to help out to get something else to gether for turbo v6 stuff. Somebody post a poll on a eastern pa gathering. See who is interested..

I'd be interested in an Eastern PA meet too, if something else less enjoyable (work, moving, etc.) doesn't schedule itself in the way.
