Due to the techincal problems we've been encountering lately, I decided to see if removing the chat hack that was installed will aid in decreasing the problem. I really dont think it will do much but we need to start somewhere and that chat wasnt all that great to begin with, so just for those that are wondering, no your computer isnt broken, the SyTy Chat link is gone :tup:

Is it bad that I already noticed this like 2 hours ago? I'm probably in there too much anyway.

no, its not bad because I removed it two hours ago, then I got called out for a structure fire so I didnt get a chance to make this post till I got home ;)

no, not really.

i havent had any confirmation of anything working/better or worse than before it was removed.

Unfortunately the forum started working a lot better the day before I removed it..... coincidence, I dunno

But nevertheless, that chat program sucked anyway, it wasnt "realtime" and it just took too long to load and close and everything else.

Once things get squared away we'll look into a new chat prog.

I must admit, it was pretty cool....I was able to chat with many different people on here.... dgoodhue, bezerk, timbo, jsullivan, jimmy, rodney, cloneman and phil long to name a few....maube you could set up an mIRC chatroom that is linked from here....I have a friend that's very well versed on this....I could ask him for suggestions for the hell of it....

I looked into an mIRC chatroom, unfortunately according to the service agreement we have with the server host, we cant do it.

uhh, no way to use a java based IRC client?
even if it had to be linked off site, it would still be very much worth it.
just think, real time, and no annoying "i have to turn my speakers off" click.
mind you, if you do figure out a way to host one, i can be your resident guru.

I spoke to my friend....He's actually a member here...Says he'd be willing to host it free of charge on his server.....all you gotta do is say the word...

Morgan's being too quiet on this....I bet he has something cool in the works.... :)
