yeah, my buddy the search button does.
what do you want to know exactly?
specific parts that need to be converted, or a general how to on everything?
we see one of these posts every other week or so.

austin texas huh?
you lucked out, there are around 10 syty's in that area.
and 10 or so in DFW

jeff, do you have a front driveshaft or awd borg warner transfer case yet?

here are some quotes that might help:

I'm sure that with a little reseach you could find all the info you need.I'll tell ya what I heard...And all in layman's terms.
It's basically a standard 4X4 S15/Jimmy frame with the transfercase from the Astro van.The front axle is Sy Ty specific. The torque split is 35 % f 65% r.The axle ratios are 3.42. I believe that the Bravada system is pretty much identical, except for it's 3.73 gear ratio.
Here's a good place to start looking: http://sportmachines.com/magrack/index.html

the syclone was the test bed for GM AWD devlopment. they had it first...but there is no reason you couldnt do this....change you regular Tcase to an AWD unit and you almost done..the regular 4x4 trucks have a device that engages the front axle...this is deleted in the syty's...you will either need to delete this and get and AWD half shaft or use a 4x4 pull cable and have it pulled all the time. NO GM IFS vehicle has locking or unlocking hubs...they are all perm attached to the front diff

if you want just the transfer case then you'll need the following: transfer case from syclone/typhoon/bravada ('91 sy and bravada use a different output then the typhoon's and '92 up bravada so make sure you get the driveshaft yoke that matches), transfer case adapter, transfer case brace rod (without it you risk breaking the case of the transfer case) and custom propshaft.
to make it a complete AWD system you also need a front diff without the disconnect axle and a stock propshaft. best option is to go to a wrecking yard and get everything from a '92-'96 bravada because they are a lot more plentiful than syty's.

I have all the parts required for a conversion from a '94 Bravada that had 72K miles on it when wrecked, if anyone is interested. I have the AWD Borg Warner T-case (including the transmission adapter), front propshaft, front differential assembly (with front halfshafts), and rearend. Will sale the components separately, but for a good S10 conversion to Sy/Ty type clone, the whole package will be hard to beat costwise. Both the front & rear differentials do have 3.73 gears (with the rear having a factory posi unit).

I can be contacted at:

$1000 will take it all! (includes AWD transfer case with trans adapter, front propshaft, front differential with left & right halfshafts, front hubs with ABS sensors on backing plates, and rear differential with factory Gov-lock posi unit & rear drum brakes). Since the front & rear differentials have 3.73 gears in them, they are best for a V-8 AWD swap. If a Turbo V-6 clone is planned, then 3.42 gears are better, so you might want only the transfer case and front propshaft in that case. If so, I will sale the transfer case & front propshaft for $550. Keep in mind that the transfer case and front propshaft are special units that only come in the Sy/Ty, Bravada, and AWD Astro Van (the AWD Astro Van front propshaft is longer than the SY/TY & Bravada, so it won't work in a truck conversion), and also the front differential has a special four-bolt propshaft mounting flange that is different than the normal U-joint strap type mounting setup used on 4x4 S10 front differentials (this is because of the special CV joint that is used on the AWD vehicles to eliminate any vibration since the shaft is always rotating when the vehicle is moving).

Let me know if you want any of the items.

Oh, by the way iamjeff, I live in Houston Tx, so it would be easy for you to drive down from Austin Tx and save the shipping costs that would be involved (big $ savings)!

Hey iamjeff,

I can also supply you with a 3.42 gear ratio front & rear differential as well, by simply swapping out the Bravada differentials for my 76K mile '93 4x4 S10 truck's differentials (I have a pristine 4x4 S10 truck that I plan to do a Vortec 350 V-8 swap into next year). All I have to do is transfer the front yoke and right side axle tube with axle shaft from the Bravada front differential to my current truck's front differential to achieve this. Since I am planning to go to the 3.73 ratio gears eventually anyway, I don't mind doing the extra work now. Hopefully, that will give you another option!

the awd doesnt require any type of electrical control, does it. sorry if that is a dumb question. i didnt think it did, but i just want to be sure

No, it is completely mechanical system. The Borg Warner AWD transfer case in the Sy/Ty's & the Bravada has a viscous coupling in it that allows differentiation between the front & rear output shafts so that the wheels can rotate at different speeds around turns without dragging tires, but still gives a 35/65% power output split to both the front/ rear. It's a good system for high powered trucks that normally spin tires due to the light rearend weight, and it is great in wet conditions or low traction conditions as well.
