One man wolfpack
Ok..
About 2 months ago I was driving to a nearby town and while merging into the highway I was gaining speed and I decided to give it a that little extra go. So I accelerated and my TY started to gain boost.. Then a HARD cluck sound came from what seemed to be right below my shifter. I assume it was the transmission.... I tried to duplicate the same problem and pulled over.. I boosted up and it was all fine. When I reached my destination I popped open the hood an I was convinced that I had broken my "budget" engine strap. Nope, it was intact. So I checked all the fluids and they were all OK.
The same sound surfaced about a month later. (I dont take the TY out often) This time my wife was riding along on the same stretch of highway. I had just explained to her that the truck had made that particular CLUNK... Then I proceded to show her what I was doing when the sound was made. I started to gain boost... I noticed my RPMs rising but the TY was not gaining speed, and then. Yes you guessed it.... CLUNK!!! I released the gas pedal and then tried to do it again and nothing... It performed great...
Now. Lets fast forward to a few weeks ago... Like I mentioned. I dont take the TY out often and in this particular night I did drive it out. I ended up racing a friends turbo supra ( you may have read my post ) Before you ask.. Yes. I spanked his ass.. He didnt take it so good .. But lets not deviate from the story. The TY performed awesome that night.. I took it home and let it sit ... AGAIN.... Then when I took it out this last friday the TY was ( and IS ) acting up... It wont shift gears. It will shift but I have to release the gas pedal and then it shifts.. It goes the same for all the gears... I checked the fluid and it has a silver tint to it.. I, pretty sure I know what that means... Did I burn my clutches? Nah... it cant be.. it shifts with my help... Did the torque converter go south?
Thats my question to you...
