code 12 ???

My dad was on his way to work in his Sy this morning and the trucks idle went kinda funky and he got to work and it died. It wont stay running after you get it to start. Its throwing a code 12. Any tips on trying to diagnose this problem?

This code will flash whenever the diagnostic terminal is grounded with the ignition turned On and the engine not running. If additional trouble codes are stored in the ECM then they will appear after this code has flashed 3 times. If this code appears while the engine is running, no reference pulses from the distributor are reaching the ECM.

Code 12 is normal.

Here'a a couple of things to get you started:

Inspect for broken or disconnected vacuum lines.

Clean the IAC.
