how much HP can the H-beam eagles handle? is there another type that is better in that price range?

Good question, usually it's a matter of RPM & power. The motors people are using the Eagle rods in are not motors that are spinning to outlandish RPM, and the Eagles are holding up much better than stock.
If there was a better rod to use for the price, wouldn't everyone already be using it ? :wink:

I've seen eagle h-beams used in some pretty severe duty applications. There are a few guys up here that use them in circle track stuff. I'm mostly involved in sprint cars these days and I know of at least two guys that put a full season on eagles.
These are 360cid small blocks that burn methanol and rev to 8500 rpm, race between 5600 to 8200.
Never seen either of these guys have a rod or any sort of bottom end failure.
Of course they use some pretty light weight pistons, that helps them live.
The point to all this is that they are great rods for the price.
