I just installed RPMs 61mm turbo (Ptb300-6165E) .85ex, 3 in. rpm downpipe, 60lb injectors, and a custom rpm multichip tuned for 110 and 116 race fuel. (8 settings for each fuel) Im currently running 23 lbs and 23 degress of timing with the 110. Truck will now pen you in the seat on a roll compared to my old stock turbo set up!! Im gonna run 25lbs on the C16 and 23 to 28 degress of timing. Engine is stock unopened! I need something to help spool the turbo quickly! Need some sugestions on the the stall speed and convertor? This is mostly a racer ! im looking to take this deep in the 11s

I run 12 flat to 12.03 on a 2800 stall. I had a 3400 and it was a bit sloppy on the street but might work well with that setup. I leave on only a few lbs of boost with a virtual instant spool to 23#. My truck has run 11.65. Best bet though would be to call Mike back and ask him.

Do you have DataMaster?

I used these guys. However they admitted to totally underestimating the amount of torque I was making and I had to sent it back and have it re-stalled. Not completely their bad though. I waited a year to do it.

If you talk to them tell them what you have and that they made my converter.

I have PTE61 Ball Bearing Turbo with 2800 rpm stall and it spools very quickly, I probably have too much stall for my setup. (I also have aftermarket cam and ported Vortecs, which would help spool up.) You probably need atleast 2800 rpm maybe 3000rpm stall with a stock head/cam and assuming you have a journal bearing turbo.

yea its the standard journal turbo. Im leaning toward a 3000. IM GONNA FILL IT WITH C16 THIS WEEK AND SEE WHICH TUNE IT LIKES THE MOST ON THE WIDE BAND + DATAMASTER.

c16 might make it worse. if you don't have detonation and don't need the octane then your power and spool up time will be worse. the only way to make more power with more octane is to increase the timing.

IMO you should get a 3k converter bc you have a stock eng and non ball bearing turbo.
if it was a vortec motor with BB then you could do 2400-2600.

I would go 2700-2800 stall. You want it as tight as possible with the stock motor that only makes power to 4500 rpm. The C16 tune will help with spool because of the increased timing.. It won't snap to full boost as quick as a 3000+ stall but it will lock up much better and you will see increased trap speeds.
