Cutting axle question

I put new rims on the ty. When i put the wheels on the front the axle hits the center cap and pushes it off. Is it ok to cut some of the axle off like maybe a 1/2"?

Yes, very common practice.

yeah take the dremel/sawzall to it.
That's what everyone with ZR-1 rims does to make the centercaps
fit.

Well while we are on the topic can someone post a picture of an axle post-modified? Curious to see how much is left.

You only have to cut abut 1/2" off the end of the shaft,it's no biggie.

Yeah, just cut off 1/2" on each side and you're done.

Yup, leave the nut on, so you can turn it off after you've made the cut. That will clean up the threads on the end.

Don't forget that you're going to need a bigger socket for the nut. It's 36mm.
