Dome light and door locks prob

Beavis

Still plays with trucks
It started with the door locks working when they wanted, Some times they work like normal and other times one will work fine and other won't. Tested voltage on the actuaters and that checks fine, and also replaced the relay under the dash (which didn't help).

Also some time later, as I was driving, the dome light decided to come on all by it's self and not go off. Checked most of the obvious stuff like dimmer switch, rear window switch, and keyless entry module with no luck (disconected them all as the light still light).

Not sure if these are linked together or seperate but would really like to resolve it. Any ideas or leads or encounters like it with solutions would be great. :) Thanks...

A dead give-away for the dome light coming on is your horn fuse. When this blows, it will backfeed supplying power to your dome light only. You will also loose clock memory. The only other problem could be a bad pin switch in the door. The system grounds when the door is in the open position, so if the one wire to the switch is grounded, it will turn on all your interior lights.
I suspect you have a different problem in the door lock actuators. even though there is voltage, you want to check the amp draw to see if they are good.... good luck.

Yup, on the door locks, look for a damaged door sw. When grounded they turn on the dome light. I've seen them where they "looked" ok but stayed grounded when the door closed. Also don't forget that the dash dimmer also controls the come light. Might be a prob there. Same as the door sw, just a grounding circuit.

i have a problem with my door locks. they dont want to open but they will just barely move if you wiggle the switch. i dont have any problems with the dome lights or horn. would this be the actuators?
