Dyno Video......Finally

Here's a link to the video we took of my engine on the dyno.

The fun part is seeing the 20 psi boost gauge go to the "OO" in BOOST.

1 "O" in boost = Okay
2 "O's" in boost = OWESOME
1 "B" in boost = Shit we Blew the head gaskets!! (luckily that did not happen!)

Way to see it come together! Should make for a nice 10sec pass or two!

Not sure about 10's, but some solid 11's should be no problem. My truck is a fat tank with everything and the kitchen sink inside.

Looks sweet. I hate to be the spelling bee police again....but you have "Itercooler" on the title screen.

I can't believe how steady the boost stays at such a high boost level!

...how big is that hairdryer?

It's a custom deal with like a 67 compressor and an adapter on the back to go on a stock DP.

Re: Dyno Video......Finally

Stock SYTY block w/ 2 bolt caps and steel straps & studs ( I recomend 4 bolts for this much power for continuous beatings ) This is a daily driver for me and it will not be running 25 psi all the time, only once in a while. Mostly around 15 psi.

Wieseco Pistons
Partial Filled block
Eagle Rods
SYTY Crank 10/10
Mild Port on Heads w/1.94 & 1.50 Valves
Custom Cam
75Lb injectors
11:1 AFR

Made:

375HP & 410 Ft.Lbs @ 5psi / Pump Gas
450HP & 525 Ft.Lbs @ 12 psi /Pump Gas
475HP & 575 Ft.lbs @ 15psi / Race Fuel with Pump Gas Tune
530HP & 620 Ft.Lbs @ 18psi Race Gas 22 timing
560HP & 630 Ft.Lbs @ 20psi Race Gas
595HP & 670 Ft.Lbs @ 22 PSI
610HP & 750 Ft.Lbs @ 24-25 psi w/24' timing / Race Gas

Hope this answers most questions and shows the power levels at different boost levels.
All tunes were in the 10.5 to 11:1 AFR.

Re: Dyno Video......Finally

so with a build like this could you get away with maybe 18psi on 91 oct and alky?
and does the price of the engine include everything? (injectors etc)

You could easily run 18psi with pump and alky and have a very reliable combo. The price is only for the motor with a converted intake (exchange on intake) It can be run up to 22-24 psi on pump and methanol with the right tune.

I can put a price together for engine, injectors, turbo, converter, and anything alse you may need.
Let me know.

Re: Dyno Video......Finally

If you guys will take a close look at the waste gate actuator rod I don’t see it move very much.
It's rare that a guy has the chance to see one work from idle to full load.

Just thought I’d bring that up.

That’s a stout V6 !

I have one Q I know that it’s a low RPM setup to keep
it alive and make it fun to drive on the street.
But if you wanted to make max power at 6000 RPM
or so what would change about the combo?

24 -25 psi is probably max for that turbo so YES, the rod ain't movin!! Nice thing is we can go down to 5 or 6 psi and have solid boost control.

This engine has a small turbo and 2 bolt mains. Put 4 bolt caps and a bigger turbo and it will power peak in the 5500-6000 range depending on the details and be super reliable.

what compression is that

basicly 9:1. Spools the turbo awesome but you need to ensure good quench to reduce detonation (correct piston dish shape matched to head)
