Edlebrock Intake for our Trucks

Good Morning,

Here is our latest projects. I will try to get flow numbers and cost if anyone else is interested in this intake for there truck.

I know of 2 other people are already using this intake on syty's. I haven't heard of their results yet though. I had posted pictures a while back of side-by-side comparisson of the edelbrock vs. stock syty intake though. I'm very interested in seeing the flow #s.

Why did you go w/ the ovular throttle body/upper intake.....i woulda though a regular mustang style circular one would be more desireable.

Actually you would have a choice of either throttle body. We just used the stock one because we had it laying around.

will the ford tps work (with the gm harness adapted for it) with the 749 ECM ?

Looks like it will flow some pretty good numbers, let me know what the cost of the plenum adaptor will be, im interested.

Don't forget the edelbrock intake isn't set up for injectors. So you would have to have the bungs welded in and rails made for this set up.

Yeah its a shame edelbrock didnt set it up for MPI.

Holley makes a manifold for stock heads or L-35 that flows much better the the stock bottleneck. and its alredy set up for efi.

is there enough meat on the edlebrock manifold to drill/tap for a dominator flange? I think all the PTE cast 90 deg plenums are for dominator. thanks

accel makes a 90 degree elbow on the 4150 flange.

Nick from MA has this setup.. I do believe its already installed.. only waiting on a part or two before breakin..

supposedly his flowed very nicely.

Just for clarification. Is that the new Edelbrock intake that is setup for the Vortec conversion or is that for stock heads?

vortec is what the post is all about. edelbrock has other intakes to put carbs on stock heads

Whybother with that , the stock syty intake has gone 9.90s in jerrys truck so unless you are going extreme all out build whats the point, unless it is just easier to bolt up to vortec heads, but that seems kinda crazy just so it fits vortec heads, the stock sy intake does not need that much work to make it fit vortecs.

It looks cool though.

Why bother??? Compare flow numbers between the two and see. I'm using it with a neck from the Buick guys and a whompin' single-blade TB... It's gotta flow a ton more than stock.
