Engine might of blown replacement ??

Hey guys well I was havin problems wit my truck leakin oil due to bad valve seals and some minor things long story short i was drivin on the freeway an the oil was low an the truck died an now it wont turn over i really dont have any money for major repair work but i was rooting around online for motors and stumpbled across a link and was wondering if this motor would work an handle a turbo charger correctly http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.c...57eb1843f043&cpwid=cpw15640420814b8b0a6989b37

Uhm that motor from what I can tell in the picture is not even close to the same. I would not trust that site for what you need.
Syty.org had a good build specs page for stock trucks but the site appears to be down.
You could go with a regular 4.3L motor like your first Idea and run like 10 psi max. It will not be the same or as fun as a Sy motor. Pull the motor and get the block honed and ringed. Skimping is not good on motors but work with your builder on what you might be able to reuse. Like rods pistons or crank. Things I would replace are the main bearing, rings, oil pump, and lifters. I have a set of stock heads that I thinking Im not going to need. Im going vortec heads instead. Not 100% sure on that yet but I can cut you a deal on them if you want. They came off a working truck with 40k miles on them. They might need some work but might be cheaper than fixing yours. Let me know what you decide.

Bad Valve seals aren't going to burn a noticable amount of oil. Your minor thing were a lot more major than you probably suspected. You need to be pro active with problems on these truck or they will come back to bite you with a big repair bill.

It is most likely a normal 4.3 v6. It will work, but you would have to turn down the boost. That is if you wanted it to last any time at all.

If your engine quit because it was it was low on oil and won't turn over. You wont be rebuilding that engine. There have been a few engines for sale in the parts for sale section latley. I didn;t notice if they sold or not.
