Does anybody know the needed enging wiring for the SY to run?
heres the scene,,, putting a different body on the rusty SY ... 96 body infact.... I would love to build the old one but the fact is its gone... i need a cab, doors, fenders, ect...so i am converting it over to the second gen.. got lots of pics if anyones interested in seeing it..back to the quesion ...in the conversion obviously there is some electrical differences.. what does our powerplant need to run correctly... i know the ECM has to be used but anything else that I could be overlooking,,,

thanks for the help..

Get a manual, either hard copy, or via CDrom.

Go through the engine electronics, the full harness, and find out what you'd need to make the engine run on a stand. Find out the actual locations for those power sources, grounds.

After that it should be relatively easy (I'm sure it won't look that way mangled in a heap in your garage though ;) ).

I really think our harness and such is quite simple. I've done harness stuff for the LS1 in my dad's Cobra, and for a harness i'm using for my 5.3L v8 in my jeep... and those can get to be a bit messier. Computer controlled transmission, several other sensors, odd power source locations, serial driven dash, etc etc.
