Re: Factory injectors

Just opens the injectors box. Came yesterday and open today .

3 out of the 6 ends are cracked. Another bummer for me.

I cleaned the ends up on my parts washer gently ( looked like some Texas sand on them) little bit of dust so I cleaned the ends. Noticed 3 are cracked.

Standing in front of engine bay now wondering what my next move is.

I think I would be a little bit disappointed too, if the cracks were obvious and not disclosed. However, if you mean the pintle caps, it is not that uncommon for them to show cracks. They are service items in the injector world and should be easy to get hold of. If you google 'Fuel injector service kit' you will find all sorts of stuff. You can buy pintle caps on their own, or DIY service kits. Heres one from a UK supplier for a 4 cyl for example.

Not the end of the world for you, just a bit disappointing.

Re: Factory injectors

Thanks for the tip Davemc. Yea not really what I wanted to go through. I think the were fine when shipped and made some contact during the ride to each other. I pulled 1 out observed end and was dirty looked closer and it was a crack. Took the rest stillin bags and pulled out 1x1 and that's when I saw 3 for 3.

Maybe if I dig around in some of my car parts I can find some stock injectors from a honda. There may be a few laying around I might get lucky who knows. Any more its a 50/50..if I dig deep enough I could find 3 beat injectors with the ends possibly.

Honestly I really don't want to buy anything else. These sprung up and I jumped. Jumped so high I hit my head.

Also broke the whole engine bay down so its another timely wating game. " its not going to go anywhere anytime soon" and the plan was to have it going yesterday. Project. Shutdown.

Re: Factory injectors

I know right, Like my buddy said. Nothing ever goes as planned with vehicles. It isnt the end of the world but a minor set back. It sure would have been great to get the truck moved. Got some stuff that needs to be unloaded from garage and I need a few big tools stored in there.

I checked my honda injectors I have a bucket of injectors and pigtails, the caps arent the same. I will probably figure something out real quick in response to the cracked ends.

Re: Factory injectors

You are complaining about a part that is over 20 years old... And a piece of that part that is less than a dollar to replace... I will be buying a set of injector service parts and will send you some frickin caps that will last another 20 years...

What the heck as soon as I test my injector servicing machine that should be herelater thisweek I will trade you a set of cleaned flowed and pointless cap replaced set just so you will leave him alone

Re: Factory injectors

I dont need them, and honestly its not that big of a deal. It sure is a BUMMER.

I already bought a bag of 50.

how would I of even known that they would have been like that?

His photo is NOTHING like mine. 60k Miles, OK, Worked fine when Pulled OK, Too good to be true.

I have a 120K mile set held up in Alaska currently and none of them are cracked. I did want to sell them, But after I landed the project truck I felt I should kept them around. http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=101714 they are 20+. Whats your point? My point is that I just shelled out more money for another disapointing factor. I get the hint that you dont like how I come off? You think its wrong that I shared that the injectors have some bugged up ends?

I wouldnt even want to put the injectors in knowing they are that way to begin with. It did take a little cleaning to discover it.. Some may have not even of noticed.

Re: Factory injectors

Sorry I didn't know they were cracked. I only replaced them when I switched to 60lb injectors. If you would like a refund just send them back or I can buy you some caps and ship them to you. Once again I apologize for the issue

Re: Factory injectors

It's no big deal. It just set me back a few more days. If I would have ever got my own personal back up set back, I never would have even had to buy these from you. It was coincidental that I was battling injector issues, wating 3+ mons for my own set, and than just having a wild hair up My @$$ about truck running bad.

I bought a bag of caps off line costed 15 some bucks. Had another wild hair up my ass about 15 seconds later and called a local shop who than told me a local NAPA has them. So... I did a 1-ADAM-12 over to the NAPA and payed another $20 for just 3 little caps. Now I have a bag I never needed, and the guy just hooked me up and sent SO MANY.

Some time I have a lot of patients, some time only a little. The main thing I did which I was huffing and puffing about was break the engine bay down in prep for the swap out. My set, I was told was going to be mailed out back to me... March 26th. I'm still waiting.

Truck runs. Runs a lot better then the 40# injectors that were in it. At least I'm running. The truck also passed emissions today. I was cringing that it would not pass the whole time. Passed with no problem..

I think the main issue was they contacted each other during shipping.

Re: Factory injectors

Yea it is a good thing. I seemed to be on the right track.. With the issue As gunked up as the spark plugs were, and how rich the tail pipe smelled it was hard to believe it passed. I also removed the ATR chip and put a factory one in its place.
