Re: finally building my ty

you gotta do some basics first:

fuel pump replacement with a Walbro 255
3 bar MAP sensor
new code for ECM with the new MAP sensor (so you can build more than 15 psi)
new plugs
new wires
new cap and rotor replace all vacuum hoses

That is to get it to thre point that you can mod it ok. After that, how much cash you wanna splash? Seems you need to search a bit more first mate! Good luck!

400hp should be obtainable with a 20g if you looking to keep factory downpipe etc.

400 at the wheels with a 20 is going to be very hard
maybe flywheel. better off setting a goal of either a fast truck or a stock sturdy rebuild becuase if you go has ass and go middle of the road you will most probably end up buying bigger better parts later and doubling your cost

Re: finally building my ty

i have done alot of research in the past when i bought the truck. i just haven't had the ambition to build it yet. i have all the tune up parts already ( 255 pump, delco cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter) i would like to put a front mount on it and new waste gate. just need some site links and maybe some setups people are running now that work. upgrading the turbo is a must. downpipe and full exhuast is a must. maybe a meth injection kit. one of those ultimate chips that i hear good things about.

I was talking flywheel. Didn't know which he was looking for.

A front mount i/c should not be on the list of first things to do IMO . Really sit down and figure out how much money you want to spend . That will allow you to choose a combo .

Anything more than a upgraded turbo , larger injectors ,and a chip may also put a new trans on that list with or without your desire . Keep it simple and it will be easy to work on . Most off the shelf chips are made for certain builds , just find one in your price range . Have fun .
