I honestly have been contemplating a rear mounted radiator setup and love the look you of yours . What you wrote about the extra rear lift has made me examine the topic closer . I deffinately do not want to put a wing on my truck and hope more than just the bed mounted radiator caused this .

Would you say the radiator ducting alone is at fault , or is it possible that the way your bed is setup with the panels and wide bed sides they may have contributed as well ?

Nathan McBride is also an aerodynamics expert and said pickup trucks in general are notorious for creating uplift. The fact I have this huge duct in the back increases the uplift even more. He said he wasn't too concerned about rear end instability during straight line acceleration rather high speed cornering over 100 mph. The benefits of our rear mounted radiator far out weigh the disadvantages from both a weight distribution and cooling standpoint. Once the front end splitter, hood vents and openings in rear of front fenders have been completed the truck will be sucked to the tarmac even further. We set the ride height up with a slight rake to further aid in high speed stability.

For everybody else here is the problem we face, syclone owners a bit more than ty owners. This isn't the first time we have seen a wing bolted on a syclone and I know in both cases the wing wasn't selected due to looks.

Anybody notice anything similar going on?

In adams case he made things somewhat worse as he mentioned with the radiator, letting air flow even faster across the top.

2 ways to stop it, add downforce from above, or stop air from getting underneath the truck, sounds like Adam has some great people helping him out and they are doing both.

I read an article somewhere (wish I knew where now, here is similar http://www.symscape.com/blog/secrets_of_diffusers) where a guy in racing constructed the underside of his car to be a big venturi.

The front let air in and it narrowed in the middle and got bigger at the back, all while conforming to some racing rules. His first test drive the car actually sucked down so hard the suspension bottomed out.

Not trying to be an armchair designer on your wing, but just concerned with your safety...

Does the upper/forward mounting bolt have enough meat around the bolt hole opening in the lower bracket? We all know how metal fatigue can quickly crack an area such as that. Just don't want to see you on your head! :D

The same wing including mounting brackets has been used on cars doing over 200 mph at the Rolex 24 Hrs. The wing is dry carbon cured in an autoclave made to the highest standards. The mounting bracket that bolts to the uprights are made from T6061 aircraft aluminum, bolted to spherical bearings in the uprights with aircraft quality fasteners. The aluminum uprights have undergone finite element analysis to ensure integrity.

i´m realy tempted to cover the sy belly with aluminium panels and add something like this - this diffusor should produce plenty of downforce
