I just installed a FPR (rpm) and the fuel press gauge bounces over about a 10 lb range the stock one was steady is this normal.

might be the gauge is starting to go south. only use oil filled for fp they soften the pump pulsations and will last longer.

so with the stock pressure regulator your fp was fine, but when you went with an afpr the pressure jumps all over the place?? Ever consider you got a bunk afpr? I don't know how often that happens, but I'm sure it could. Good luck.

Thats what I was thinking, truck runs ok but I thought the fuel pressure should be stable. Guess I check it one more time before I call Mike

Wally,

What kind of a FP gauge do U have ? I wouldn't think electronic ones would pulsate. Most people go electronic because U can't bring gasoline into the car w/o an isolator. I installed 2 of those and will never do one again. I've gone electronic on my Ty.

my electronic inside and mechanical oil filled under hood dont pulsate. however i have seen the mechanical non oil filled pulsate so much the needle finally fell off. lol, oh, and it was on a sy.

Think I figured it out, when I started It up and first adj. the afpr. I think there was still air in the fuel rails It's fine now so that was probally it.
