Being your first sy, I would suggest leaving it there for a month or two until you and the sy start to talk the same language.
Give you time to get familiar with datamaster/tunerpro/diacom, what is good, bad, etc. etc.
SyTy's have STEEEEP learning curves.

This is the one that was hit in the back for $5900 right? If so, I was talking to the owner about it, and the first thing I would suggest is upgrading the convertor. He said he still had the stock one in with that turbo. Most likely what you are seeing is lag. I would also be very careful in tuning because you are on the stock motor and trans from what I remember.

here is my boost with a PTE 51....
My suggestion is to get datamaster before you do anything. I datalog all the time when I'm running 16-17psi on my stock 137k mile engine. Just be careful, and when your changing things that have to do with boost always do it with race gas, so your safe.

I also have no exhaust right now, just open DP and the control is good. I have no idea how long my motor can last, but I rarely let it get any knock at all. I have a set of 50lb injectors that I should probably put on, but I need to get my WB02 setup on first.

Brandon's Sy does still have the stock convertor. It'll help a lot to get a little more stall behind it.
It does seem to spool pretty quick for a 51 on the stock convertor though. Are you ever hitting more than 13#? In first I don't think you'll get it - what about 2nd and 3rd?

update... i shortened the wastegate rod by 2 turns and im getting 15 pounds of boost in all three gears now, but i still want more. it has the three bar map and the ultimate. do i have to run an aftermarket boost controller, or is there a way to get more boost when i want it?

i wouldnt run more than 15 psi on pump gas. you are going to need good gas or alky if you plan on running higher boost....if not a rebuild is in your near future.

i have 93 plus octane booster in it now. what is the best setting for the ultimate? (for my setup) also a full rebuild doesnt scare me i have 3 complete vortec motors, and one complete old school motor. i was planning on running this motor untill it dies, and then building a motor for it.
I run 17# on pump gas without an issue.
The Ultimate will control the boost - what setting are you on? I'd start with t115 - that'll be the lowest timing with 15#. T117 will be 17#. With that turbo you'll see good results with higher boost.

it went to a good home brandon, ill take care of it. looking on ebay right now at manual boost controllers. the one im looking at is from south shore or something like that. what is the best manual boost controller for the money??
