got rear ended in the syclone today, yay for dumb drivers

As the title states I just got rear ended in the Sy today in Gahanna, OH just outside of Columbus no less than three blocks from my house. The guy in front of me stopped at the light, I stopped, and the 17yr old girl behind me didn't stop in time and sent me forward just nudging the guy in front of me, luckily the front is ok, it was just pushed in a little and I was able to fix it, the left side is fine but I'm going to need a new rear bumper and cladding, the thing that sucks is the metal in the corner of the bed is smashed
so anyways here are some pics of 2862, also if anyone knows where I can get the cladding let me know....

Damn dude, that sucks!

I wish people would pay attention when they are driving. Was she on a cell phone perhaps? Some stupid ass kid pulled out in front of me on his cell phone the other day while I was goin about 50. I was on the brake pedal so damn hard.....managed to stop about 2 feet from his bumper...smoke everywhere from the brakes being locked up. I pull around and look at him like I'm ready to end his life while im honking my horn and he wouldn't even look over..too busy talking on the cell phone...Cell phones need to be illegal while driving.

That's too bad it got through the cladding and F'd up the corner of the bed too.
Gonna have to get a new corner welded in? didn't tweak any more of the bed did it?

No that is the only difficult to repair spot that I could find, the left side of truck is still perfect and as far as I can tell the rest of the bed is fine, I'm not sure what the cladding is supposed to look like underneath as Ive never taken it off even though Ive been wanting to, so I'm not sure If I'm missing anything for the wheel arch like plastic tabs or anything like you see on the rear of the truck, I have the arch which isn't cracked it flew off in one piece but there is square pieces of plastic still screwed into the wheel well and if I remember right those pieces of plastic should be part of the arch cladding, so maybe I can glue the tabs back on the piece and salvage it or maybe give the arch and plastic tabs to someone on here who can put the tabs back on the arch, ill have to look at it better tomorrow morning when I get off work, the corner cladding is cracked and well the bumper cladding of course is cracked.

Feelings mutual i have the same damage to my typhoon and im still looking for cladding at least its a syclone the cladding is easy to get..

i feel your pain. my truck was hit a few months ago and it took me a real long time to get parts. Yea, hit up Ray for the cladding. You will not be dissapointed in the quality of his stuff.

Guy at work has a nice Dodge slammer, custom, molded bed, etc. Got hit in the rear. Not as bad but a big deal anyway because of all the custom work. Just a huge PITA. Sorry to hear. God luck.

Take a look at your mounting tabs for your front cladding pieces. Someone backed into me one morning and it broke a tab or two. Two weeks later, the cladding blew off while I was going down the road. Just so's you know, more damage may lurk below the surface.

hmm, well as far as I know..not around here..plus every other person you see driving is on the cell phone.

It's like what my ex-gf used to say when I would tell her she swerves all over the road cause shes on her cell while driving all the time:

I try not to be an asshole or sexist everyday Im on the road, but both accidents Ive been in involved a college girl and an older woman that wasnt paying attention and cut me off/blew a stop sign.

I just dont get it.

Hey cool, yeah I just moved to the Columbus area about oh 7 months ago for a new job, I havent been to national trail yet, Im originally from Swanton about 15 miles west of Toledo and the tracks that I have ran at have been Milan and Norwalk although one of these days I will make it to National Trail, anytime you want to hang out or if you need help working on your truck let me know. When I was in school studying business law in my research I came across a law in I believe Pennsylvania that said....

A women is only allowed to drive a car if a man walks in front of her waiving a red flag to let people know a women is driving.

kind of funny...

Make sure you look under your front cover. If you tapped the guy in front of you, you may have smooshed the front support.

I also have the bed sides in New Old Stock ( NOS - Brand New )

Update, I took it to a dealer beings Im sort of busy with work right now, her insurance is paying for it and the estimate was just under 5k in damage which was 40% away from calling the truck totalled, they told me that they total a vehicle at 80% so I was suprised that they considered are trucks to be worth that much because you know how insurance companys can be when it comes to that kind of stuff, hopefully they do a good job, I checked the front and sure enough some of the support brackets were bent so they are going to have to fix that as well, It will be interesting to see if they can get the cladding, Ive never been crazy about having a dealer work on my truck beings most of the time they dont even know what a syty is but Im not paying for it so I guess I cant complain too much, I just hope my insurance doesn't go up due to this, that and It just sucks seeing my truck in this condition, even though I knew it would happen someday I just didnt know how bad and when, It could have been alot worse and at least it didnt total it so that made my day. I'll let you guys know if I need anything, especially the guys selling the oem cladding If I for some reason need to buy some.
