mmm..I like the CTS-V. just not the 55,000 sticker on the window..they are one of the sweetest cars I have ever driven:tup:

i have a friend that has one. they are basically a corvette motor in a mid size caddy. more power than the new gto. and his is pretty damn fast. and if the guy had a chip in it that worked they're even faster. if you're fairly stock losin to one of them is not that bad. your only shot is to hole shot one and then hang on till they go around you. they are a really nice and fast car. but pricy. no shame losin to one. how bad did it whip ya. did you really launch on him or did he catch you sleepin?

There are a few CTS-V's around my area, black and red ones. All but one are mid 60's aged guys. The one chick driving it is like early 30's. Probably her hubbys car or she makes some good $$. lol

I still can’t figure that out. I drove 1 2005 Mustang GT and rode in another, both autos, neither was very fast. I would guess mid to high 14s. They felt like they would give my truck (13.6@ 98) a good run from a 30mph roll. Doesn’t a 1999 have like 40 less hp then a 2005?

Yeah, the new ones (3 valve head) have 300 horses. The '99+ GTs will click off 14.0s in 5-speed trim.
My buddy's (the one that spanked me) had a best of 14.1 at the track in stock trim. I can take him out of the hole, but after 1st gear, it's buslength city. I'm pretty sure I have a mid 15 second syclone, but it may be slower than that.
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'd better dollars to doughnuts you don't have the slowest syty on this forum.

Yeah, the new ones (3 valve head) have 300 horses. The '99+ GTs will click off 14.0s in 5-speed trim.

You guys need to hand those trucks over to someone to fix them on here, lol.
The only mustang's I've ever see run faster then a 14.2 at the track were on slicks and had some major mods (not talking about any 03-04 Cobra either, I've seen 12.4's out of some of them stock with a good driver.) And even then only running 12.5's. Case in point the Mustang I raced when I ran the 12.6. He was race trimed out. Slicks and skinnys up front, open exhaust. He cut a low 1.6 to my 1.8 but at the 1/8 mile we were dead even. Then up top he only got me by .1 :roll:

Maybe it's the Florida humidity.
Don't take this the wrong way. I'm no Mustang fan (though I do like old Cougars) but if my friend, who is definitely not a professional driver, can click a 14.1 on a cheap set of street tires in a 100k mile GT, I would think anyone could. I wish I could have raced him in my 6-speed '98 SS. He hates losing, especially to a GM.
