I got my money problem finally situated I ended up using an insurance check I got for my robbery and just left the stock stereo in. I have another $1,700 in insurance checks that I can use to benifit the Ty. I have installed the IAN KIT, new upper intake gasket, new silicon hoses. Now the Ty will build more than 10psi but only in 3rd & 4th at a 3/4 throttle, but stabbing the gas only gives me 8-10psi from a standstill. Now if it goes over 10psi I get detonation and black smoke shits out tailpipe. Someone told me the turbo was going bad but I don't think a turbo would cause detonation? I dunno. I am running a pitbull chip, walbro, taylor wires, ngk plugs, conrad cap, rotor, homemade intake, pretty sure 160 thermo. Any ideas would be appreciated. I think I am gonna order a stock chip from GM and see what happens with that to get rid of detonation but what about boost. I need to gut the cat maybe it is clogged.
Gotta get the TY building full boost.

Black smoke is generally a bad thing.
If you can hear the detonation - it is badder too. What is idle like? General drivability? Do you have a stock chip to try in place of the Shitbull?

I only whish I had datamaster. I also should have mentioned that the wastegate actuator is unplugged meaing in a smooth running ty it would build somewhere around 27psi (BG we talked about this a month or so back). Idle is kinda rough but no more than I would exspect from a hotrod it bounces a round a little and a wot it jumps between 3500-4000. Usually when I replace something the idle gets better for a couple of days then goes back to normal. Like Thursday I put Taylor wires on and It didn't start running rough again till yesterday. I checked the wires still okay? Oh and I just ordered a new stock chip so I'll see how that goes when it gets here.

you better watch it that just happened to my sy it over boosted then the detonation hit and when i broke the motor down i ended up getting 6 cracked pistons and that was all because of the piece of sh@t hypertech chip that was in there when i bought the truck good luck on what you find im not tring to scare you but it sounds like the same that happened to me
Well overboosting do you mean over 15psi cause I have never seen my Ty go over 14psi except on like 2 occasions where i had easied into @ 15/16 throttle going 60 and when it hit 80 it jumped to 17 psi when it shifted. I think this weekend it is going up on ramps and I am gonna pull the cat off and run a damn rod iron into it until i can see right through it. Then maybe it will build better boost? Any more ideas I would appreciate. If I can get this thing runnin right I will be ordeing a ultimate, 3bar and afpr very soon. TIA TTYL
I would be more concerned about the knock then I would be about full boost. If it is knocking and puffing smoke - why would you want to give it more boost?

To answer the very first part of your post I figured if I could get it to build full boost that maybe it would stop detonating cause I figured what ever was causing it not to build full boost would also be the cause of the detonating.
Well compression I don't know, blow by I have tried that and the oil filler tube did not seem to have suction to it, tack does flutter a little, I always use the same gas Texaco or Exxon 93 octane only, Haven't tried the higher octane really I put 2 gallons in when I ran it at the track but never went over 10psi, and ic works not right this minute but weither it does or not doesn't seem to affect it. The only time it will detonate is in 3rd with almost wot which is the only time it will go above 10 psi.
