Heater hose connection on radiator interference with cobra elbow

I just put a TE45 turbo on the Syclone and now have a lot less clearance in front for an intake. Right now my biggest problem is the heater hose connection on the radiator. There is no way to get it back on with the cobra elbow in place. My question is, is there anywhere else I can connect that heater line? I am no longer using the coolant line connection for the turbo beneath the thermostat, could I connect it there? One thought I had was to trim the heater hose connection on the radiator down a little and thread in a 90 degree brass fitting, but that would be a band-aid fix and I am not sure I could do it without cracking the plastic. My other option would be to put on the Edelbrock water pump with the extra heater connection, but I would prefer not to do that because of the extra $$$. I have already thrown a lot of $$$ at the truck trying to get it ready for Nats. Anybody have any ideas? Pics:

I don't think their is a quick fix for that. If I remember right, you can get a 94 blazer radiator, it moves that fitting down closer to the lower hose and might even offer better cooling.

The easy fix would be to cap it and either get the edelbrock or as I did the flowkooler water pump ( IMPROVED COOLING BY DOUBLING WATER FLOW UNDER 3500RPM) available at Summit. Aprox $70 :2cents:

I don't usually post, but I think I can help on this one. You can tee the heater return into the lower radiator hose, I've done this in the past and run it on my V8 ty with reliability. I use a Moroso aluminum hose drain and drill a tap a larger hose nipple into it, then just cut the lower hose to install.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I am just going to go with the FlowKooler pump. $77 to solve the issue, get a better pump and I have to order some other stuff from Summit anyway. SYCLONE#1531, do you know what fitting I need to connect the heater hose at the pump (3/8" or 1/2" NPT?). Thanks.

Yes you can use the coolent connection that is no longer being used for the turbo.

I believe it is a 1/2.
